It was difficult to make plans with the members of allied, especially the two people you were good friends with— Daniel Park and Johan Seong.
You’d been eating their ear off about it for weeks— a trio date where you guys go to some cute pet cafe.
When Daniel got told that he wasn’t alone and Johan Seong, was joining you both, Daniel felt a little hesitant.
On the other hand, Johan’s reaction to your invitation was… neutral. He found it as an opportunity to get closer to you, and he was okay with Daniel being there as well, and overall he was happy.
The thing about the two of them was— they weren’t close. They had a mutual friend Zack, who they both were closer with.
Daniel felt as if things would become awkward from the lack of simple conversations because all he’d ever talked about with Johan was mostly mission related stuff— he thought maybe he would come off as annoying.
You’d picked out the perfect outfit as well the perfect day— not too sunny not too windy. A perfect day for pet owners and pet lovers to bring their beloved animals on a walk.
You looked at the watch on your hand. 3:15 p.m. And then you looked at the seen text messages.
Where were the two of them exactly? You tapped the heel of your shoes endlessly onto the cement pavement of the park that you’d chosen as a common meetup location.
Then mentally, you cursed yourself for being earlier than the decided time. Then again, that meant you had to avoid the awkwardness and embarrassment of coming late and hurriedly.
Then from a distance you saw him— dressed in a casual dark blue hoodie and black jeans. Daniel waved his hands excitedly at you
“Daniel! How are you?!” You asked excitedly, moving to give him a huge warm hug that he instantly melted into.
“I’ve been doing great, Y/n, its honestly so nice to see you today! You look very pretty.” He had a faint blush on his cheeks as he examined you head to toe, admiring your beauty and your presence silently.
“Oh! Thanks! this is a style I’ve been trying out for a few weeks. I guess it suits me.” You replied back as you twirled around in your outfit and then looked up at him, who looked like the sweetest ball of sunshine.
And just as you two had started talking, Johan arrived dressed in a casual jumpsuit, he had his glasses on since now he had been prescribed to wear them.
“Oh Johan! Hello!!” You shouted ecstatically, waving your hands above in the air as the silhouette of him appeared to grow bigger and bigger.
“How are you, Y/n?” Johan asked as he pushed up his glasses with a finger. You tilted your head up to look at him.
“I’m doing great! Im so happy you’re here too!” Johan felt a faint blush overcome his cheeks. It was surprisingly flustering for him to know you thought of him so much.
As soon as he saw Daniel they both exchanged a short greeting, which was sufficient for the meanwhile.
“Thankyou so much for agreeing to come on this date. Im so happy you both are here!”
“Dont worry about that, this way better than rotting at home!” Daniel exclaimed grinning widely, his teeth shone in the light like a pair of diamonds. Johan looked up at his smile and then turned his head to look at you.
“I agree, you’d been asking about this for a while anyway.” Johan also added onto what Daniel said and then the three of you walked together in harmony before reaching the cute pastel coloured pet shop.
Daniel opened the door for you, a gentlemanly gesture. You thanked him and proceeded to find a spot where the three of you could sit together. As both the men followed suit, Daniel and Johan were forced to sit together on the sofa meanwhile you sat in a chair opposite from him.
The awkwardness between the two of them was palpable that you could even feel it yourself, but you didn’t want to add onto the already awkward situation.
“Ahem, so do you guys want to eat something first?” You asked as you held out one menu to Daniel and Johan. meanwhile, you read through the pages thoroughly, occasionally staring up at them for an answer.
“Uhh sure! I’ll take this, and Johan you?”
“Im fine with that. I’ll take it too.”
“Oh okay then we’ll order this and I’ll get this pasta, and guys what about drinks?”
“Im fine!” “No thanks” they both replied together in perfect unison.
As you called for the waiter and gave the order, the two men had already started looking around where the pets where hanging around freely. A labrador with a light brown coat walked up to your table, wagging his tail happily as he barked, looking up at the people who sat there.
“Awww, so adorable!” You scratched the top of the dog’s head, Daniel played with his paws, smiling and laughing without a care in the world. Johan watched the two of you caress the dog.
But what he didn’t expect was a puppy to take a sudden liking to him.
The puppy walked up and climbed onto the sofa, whining at Johan as it sat besides him comfortably. Johan stopped for a second to look at the little puppy, his hands hesitated— whether he should touch it or not. What if the puppy got scared.
Then the puppy stood up and placed the paws of his front limbs onto Johan’s thigh, its tail going haywire with excitement.
Johan smiled, finally picking up the puppy and holding it up as he looked at it.
“Awwww!! This is so cute! I think she likes you!” You exclaimed, cooing at the sight of him and the puppy. Johan’s face flushed bright pink as he held the puppy closer in his arms like he was coddling a baby.
This was a sight even rarer than a blue moon. Johan warming up to a puppy other than Eden. Perhaps he felt something inside for this little puppy just as the puppy chose him.
Meanwhile Daniel too, got approached by a very excited little guy. A german shepherd puppy that pulled all his strength into barking at him. Daniel let the puppy climb up to him and sniff him, the puppy panted happily as he licked a side of Daniel’s face.
“Woah!! Easy there.., You are so energetic!” Daniel exclaimed, holding the puppy up and scratching his ears lovingly.
As you looked at the two of them indulged in caring and playing with the two puppies who chose them, you felt your heart grow softer. It was a moment to remember and a sight to behold. You secretly took candid photos of them without them realising.
“She’s adorable! I love her grey fur!” Daniel’s eyes gleamed as he looked at the puppy in Johan’s arms, Johan moved a hand to scratch the german shepherd puppy’s head who was in Daniel’s arms.
They both had bonded over something so simple and adorable so quickly. All the awkwardness had simply dissipated.
“The grey one’s name is Laila, and the german shepherd is named Bruno.” One of the owners of the cafe told you as she walked over to your table, looking over to Daniel and Johan.
“Bruno? That suits him!” Daniel chirped, giggling as he rubbed the puppy’s belly.
“Laila, cute.” Johan whispered as he let the puppy bite one of his fingers lightly.
“Are you planning to adopt them? We would be really grateful to you if you do.”
“Uhh.. yeah!” Johan looked at Daniel as the words came out of Daniel’s mouth, obviously he was nervous and quickly blurted it out but, deep down the connection Johan felt as he held Laila reminded him of Eden.
“I might… I think so.” Johan replied, pouting as his lips as he stared at the small furball curled up onto his lap, breathing softly.
“Then, I think I’m also gonna adopt Bruno..” Daniel whispered softly.
Your eyes travelled thoughtfully over the image of them two. the almost motherly look in their eyes as they gazed at the puppies that they held.
“May this day never end…”
