Regarding my fanfic for NaNoWriMo

(which is still totally Aeris x Sephiroth)

This is a better excerpt:

"Is he...?"

"An Ancient, yes."  The word hung heavy in the air, so powerful and so unfamiliar.  He answered my next question before I could ask it.  "You pulled the diseased cells out of his body.  Generations of mutations, undone with a single spell.  He'll need time to recover, of course.  His body will be wracked with pain as it adjusts to its renewed form.  There's a chance he might not survive it.  But if he does..."

"Will he be able to speak to the Planet, like I do?"

"Yes."

"And the Lifestream?"

"All of it.  He'll be a true Cetra.  Aeris...there are millions more out there, just like him.  We can restore the entire race.  But I can't do this without you.  No one else can perform that spell or even speak their language.  I understand this is a heavy burden.  Are you willing to bear it?"

The young one looked so small under the mountain of blankets on the couch.  He moaned for water.  His voice was tiny and full of innocence and my heart just broke.  How could I say no?

"Absolutely, yes.  I'll do everything I can."
