Fire engulfed Pier 57 on September 30, 1947, sending smoke toward upper Manhattan in the worst fire of its kind in New York history. Estimated damage was $5,000,000 (more than $72 million in today's currency). Firefighters on land and sea worked tirelessly, and fireboats worked for nearly 20 hours before the flames were controlled, but the Grace Line pier crumbled into the Hudson, completely destroyed.

Today, Sept 30, is 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘆 🎙️
Of all the informative and entertaining podcasts Richard has participated in over the last few years, one of my favorites is the Jan 21, 2025, episode of Gaby Roslin's "Reasons to be Joyful."
Gaby had Rich doubling over with laughter one minute and sharing precious family memories the next. On a serious note, he tapped into his experience being introverted and bullied in school to make a case for drama education, "I was the kid who could barely string a sentence together, but when I had other people's words, I suddenly flourished."
If you missed any of it, see links for podcast, what brings RA joy, and outtakes.
It used to be a thing that albums/singles were always released on Tuesdays in the US, actually, to align with the Billboard charts and to make sure stores had time to stock. Not a thing anymore, but it made intuitive sense to me and then I realized I’m old. 🤣
Oh the days when purchasing the album physically was the only option!
Get your signs ready.
Truth & Reconciliation Day September 30
Quincey P. Morris is the most Texan texas has ever seen.
It is Truth and Reconciliation day, so to all the nonnatives, please take some time to learn about who's land you live on, what the residential schools did, and wear Orange.
And to all Indigenous people, take care of yourself, I know how intense the emotions are so im sending you hugs. You don't need to educate anyone about it, take some time to heal. ᐁᑯᓯ
