VANGUAAAAARD. I’ve done a different class every time and this was my favorite. Best of both worlds, and by “both” I mean MAGIC BIOTIC POWERS, I CAN LITERALLY CHARGE HEADFIRST INTO DUDES and GUNS THAT SET PEOPLE ON FIRE. Plus the squad members I tend to roll with are the tech-savvy ones, so this really meant all my bases were covered.
3: Favorite ME1 mission?
Oh god I’ve played ME 1 once and there’s not a single mission I liked more than that one scene if you’re a Colonist with the girl from Mindoir trying to kill herself, so can I just pick THAT? I do remember liking Ilos. Virmire for the feels, obviously.
4: Favorite ME2 mission?
Tali’s loyalty missionnnnn, we have discussed my quarian feelings and my Tali feelings. I like the combat and I like the trial. ALSO THE PART WHERE YOU ARE JOKER, and the whole ~finale~ is awesome.
5: Favorite ME3 mission?
Already answered, but I want to also give a mention to that whole inside-the-Geth-mind mission, which I really love for the backstory and uniqueness but I *hate* for the shooting at glowing blocks that refuse to disappear because I’m not hitting the right glowing blocks, ARRRRRGH. So, um, that one is a mixed bag.
6: Favorite ME1 squad?
Tali and Wrex! And sometimes Ashley!
7: Favorite ME2 squad?
Varies! I like taking Jack and Miranda together! But then on other people’s missions will switch up and take Tali or Kasumi. Sometimes Garrus. Grunt. FFS this game has a lot of squad members.
8: Favorite ME3 squad?
EDI and Liara! Or EDI and Tali! Ash if she’s around. Vega grew on me eventually.
11: Are there any squad members you just don’t like?
Ohhh this may be unpopular but I didn’t really like Javik or elect to take him anywhere. He did have growth and a scene toward the end with Liara that I really liked, and I dig his voice actor’s accent a lot, but I found his LET ME TELL YOU HOW IT WAS IN MY SUPERIOR JERK CULTURE through most of the game sort of insufferable.
12: Favorite non-combatant?
JOKER. TRAYNOR. CHAKWAS.
17: Favorite loyalty mission?
OH WHOOPS I THOUGHT WE COVERED THIS IN 2. Tali. Honorable mention to Kasumi (heist!) and Mordin (feels!).
18: Favorite weapon?
LOL I’m terrible at keeping these straight honestly, I just know I constantly use the assault rifle (Avenger I think?) as soon as my Shep’s class can get their hands on it, and the SMG before that. And I really like that Collector Particle Beam weapon in 2 for the biggest enemies.
19: What power(s) do you use most frequently?
My current Shepard has Overload and Incinerate on… whatever the XBox controller version of speed-dial is. In my *previous* game I realized at some point that Charge, in addition to CHARGING, also resets your shields, so boy howdy did I rely on that one and it was really hard to get used to not having it anymore. XD
22: Favorite multiplayer class/character?
I actually don’t play multiplayer enough to have unlocked any of the cool characters, so I can’t answer this!
23: What enemy do you really like fighting?
I feel like a bad toasterlover for saying this, but geth? I like that you can hack them to fight each other! This is very influenced by my current Shepard being an engineer and it’s like THE ONLY THING THEY’RE GOOD FOR, especially in the first game.
24: What enemy do you really hate fighting?
FUCKING BANSHEES. THE WORST. I don’t even feel any satisfaction when I finally beat them like I did with that Praetorian thing, I just want them to go away.
27: How many Shepards do you have?
Basically three. I finished the 2nd and 3rd game with Tori and Cole, who I’ll probably always consider my main and alt-Shep. I played the 1st and 2nd with Max and she would be the first I’ve beaten the entire series with.
I sort of created a fourth Shepard in ME 3 for the future purpose of (A) experiencing the ‘bad’ version of 3 where you start without an import and it assumes a lot of characters are dead, and (B) romancing Kaidan as male Shep, but haven’t really done anything with him yet.
28: What’s the most hilarious thing that’s happened to you while playing (a glitch, a mission that went haywire, etc)?
It’s not *that* funny but the glitch I always remember is when I was doing Grunt’s loyalty mission, for some reason the animation of one of the krogans didn’t load (I think the opposing clan leader?) so the whole time he was talking it was just this weird KROGAN-SHAPED BLACK HOLE on the screen. Also in the first game I once managed to lose the Mako on the other side of a mountain and could not physically get back to it.
29: If you primarily play Paragon or Renegade, is there a dialogue/interrupt/action of the opposite alignment you always take?
I’m pretty sure I’ve always hugged Tali when she finds her dad and comforted Liara over Thessia. I always stop the guy being beaten/tortured on Jack’s prison ship. I always stick up for Legion when that admiral is being a jerk about them (though ONE DAY I’ll probably try a less robo-loving game, I mean I have to pick Destroy eventually… right?) There are a couple of *needlessly* renegade things I just feel too shitty about doing, like shooting the hostage in Thane’s mission or letting that little BIOTIC GOD volus go running into the room.
There are a bunch of asshole dialogue options I HAVE to do, especially with the Council. Interrupt-wise, something coming to my mind is head-butting that krogan on Grunt’s mission. And YOU SON OF A BITCH-ing Kai Leng, naturally. Edit: And leaving Jacob's dad to die, omfg.
