So I’ve been writing a fanfic sequel to Over the Garden Wall in honor of the show’s 10 year anniversary called “Return to the Garden Wall”. Which not only serves as a sequel to OTGW, but also as a sequel and crossover with the tv show Clarence (which is playing off of a popular theory that the two shows are set in the same universe). So far I’ve written a prologue, but I don’t know if I should just publish it here on Tumblr or if I should use other platforms as well (such as Wattpad and Ao3). But I hope I’ll be able to finish it sooner rather than later.

Concept of death (and ghosts in general) in TML

So, it’s pretty clear that in Clover and TML, when you die, you become a ghost and a animal is assigned on you (used bear as an example) However it is possible for someone to get hurt.

say, if someone is stabbed with a knife they may get wounded and they may not fly as fast and their actions are limited. Unless it’s a golden tipped weapon, if you get proper treatment, you’ll be fine

In this universe, ghost don’t live forever, the average ghost can live to 2000 in earth years not including the time when their alive, However even though Golden tipped weapons can’t necessarily kill them, they can curtains shorten a afterlifespan.

1 . how much harm can a golden tipped weapon do to a ghost

depends on the weapon and low badly they are wounded, but it can be as little as 5 years to HALF their afterlifespan if it’s that bad

2. how can a ghost get treated if wounded

some ghosts are doctors, and they hold a medkit for any injured ghosts. It’s like a clear goo, and can clear wounds. Ghost blood is black.

3. Is anyone immune to golden tipped weapons?

just the star count and a couple executives but that’s it

4. Could we expect character death in TML

no, there are no planned deaths in TML, but hey, the future can surprise us both.
