“After this little sentimental detour,” Dorian starts with a sigh, leaning against the stone pedestal that held the weeping statue. “We should probably take note of that little grove nearby. I’d say it would make an ideal logging stand.”

Shaelin nods along absentmindedly as she ruffles through her many pockets and belted pouches. Sera watches dutifully over her shoulder, all but leaning her full weight against the dwarf.

Iron Bull faces away from the group entirely, scanning the valley. “While we’re here, we should probably check on that fade rift to the south, south-east of us. Seemed stable last time, but you never know when some demons feel like busting through—”

“Well fuck me!” Shaelin groans and buries her face in her hands, ending her search with a growl of frustration.

Sera just giggles. “That an order, Inky?”

“What is it, dear?” Dorian asks the Inquisitor with trepidation, shooting a pointed look at Sera.

“I forgot the…the plant! The stupid herb, the…the…”

“Felly-weed?” Sera offers, still biting back giggles.

“The felandaris?” Dorian corrects, voice deadpan and palm already reaching to cover his eyes.

“Yes!” Shaelin exclaims and bites down on her lip, closing her eyes to picture exactly where she remembers leaving it.

“Boss, you telling me you forgot the exact reason we set out in the first place?” Iron Bull turns and holsters his great axe with reluctance.

“It’s back at camp, I’ll just get it myself. Shouldn’t take long,” Shaelin mutters and begins heading back with fists clenched at her sides. She tells herself she can’t linger on the lilt of disappointment in her friends’ voices, she just has to hurry and fix it.

Dorian stands upright and grabs his staff. “Are you sure? I don’t think you should—”

“I’ll keep her safe!” Sera interrupts and jogs after Shaelin, catching the dwarf’s hand in hers for emphasis. Dorian just waves them off with a sigh.

“I know exactly where it is too,” Shaelin mutters as she leads the way back to camp, letting Sera swing their hands as they walk. “Next to my bedroll so I wouldn’t forget it. Fat load of nug shit that did—”

“So was it an order? Back there?”

“What?” Shaelin shakes her head and scrunches up her eyebrows.

Sera pulls them to a stop when they approach camp, just out of earshot of the soldiers milling around. “You know. When you said to fuck you.”

“I-I, uh…” She speaks so plainly and with that unabashed grin of hers, Shaelin can’t help her ears growing hot. “I didn’t mean…I was just…well…”

“Mm-hmm?”

Shaelin stares at the way the sun paints freckles under Sera’s eyes, stares at the way she sticks her tongue out just a tad, stares at the laugh lines ringing the edges of her lips. Well fuck me… “It’s, uh, never an order. Always a request, though.”

“Ooh, good save, Tadwinks! One I’ll take you up on,” Sera laughs and heads toward the tent they share. “I’m sure the boys would understand if it took a little longer to find the felly-weed or whatever…”

Sera Appreciation Week Day 1 - Best Qualities

There’s a lot to be said about Sera’s character. She’s funny, smart, creative, and an all around delight. A lot of people have said that she’s annoying or stupid, and they're all wrong. She's an incredible leader of an activist organization, has a unique perspective on power, and contributes so much to the Inquisition!

Sera Appreciation Week - Day 1

I’ve written a lot of fics from Sera’s POV. It’s a very fun, freeing POV that’s pushed me to grow as a writer in a lot of ways. (I commissioned some art of her and my Inquisitor, and I can post that another day.)

I just figured Sera would have things to say if she romanced an atheist Inquisitor, for example, or one who had a lot of damage to work through. She and my Adaar are imperfect, and sometimes they hurt each other, but at the end of the day there’s lots of love there. Here’s my Jenny and the Ox series for Sera Appreciation Week.

Day 2 - Ships | Best jokes

Have you romanced Sera more times that you could count? Or do you prefer her with Dagna? Sera is so shippable!

Is it cheating if I say Briera? Whenever Brielle and Sera get together, the raw chaotic energy is just exquisite. Everyone ascends. I originally created Brielle so tha I could do the Sera romance, and my whole perspective on her changed. This was before I even liked Sera and just wanted to do all of the romances/specializations/main choices, but she ended up being one of my favorite characters. While there are many parts of her romance that are... not good, it's also super sweet and fun. Sera is heart eyes.
