So I've seen a lot of time travel fics with many different people who do the time traveling (and I love all of them so much!) But I was wondering if anyone knew of any Lan Xichen time travel fics? Thanks!
Hmmm. Off the top of my head, I do not. Anyone else?
Oh, @candicewright says A Brother's Woes by pupeez4eva (stupidly funny time travel where lxc’s first priority is to quieten his brothers noisy everyday activities).
And @talesofthemusicroom says:
To Fix Your Twisted Reflection

Summary: After their end, a plea and a wish for things to have been different by Lan Xichen sends Nie Mingjue and Jin GuangYao back in time and gives them a chance to do better. With their knowledge of the 'future' they came from, they have to figure out how to deal with each other.
For the prompt thing: The Avatar version of the"space the final frontier . . ." speech. Like, not the backstory we get at the beginning of an episode but a mission statement kinda thing
“These are the voyages of Avatar Wan. His continuing mission to explore strange new world, to seek out new life and new civilizations and to boldly go where no man has gone before.”
IDK if you're still looking for accessory recs, but you can find some truly stunning stuff by searching for shoulder necklaces on Etsy at all different price points. Lots of options to for whatever look you're going for and any of them are comment worthy pieces. Best of luck :)
I’m in Australia! But getting here wasn’t that fascinating, so I’m putting it under a read more.
I was supposed to be at the airport 2 hours before my flight left at 11:00 am. My kids and a friend came to see me off. Turns out the ticket counter and security didn’t even open until 10:00. So we had plenty of time to chat. Once I made it through security, it turns out that there were at least 6 people I knew on the same flight. (The joys of small town life.) The plane was over 2 hours late, so we had plenty of time to get introduced to everyone else that anyone knew.
We finally made it to Seattle. I had a long layover so I had no trouble getting my next flight. It left on time and made it to LAX on time. (The only one on the entire trip.)
LAX is under construction, so we had to ride a bus down active taxiways to the international terminal. That was interesting to say the least. (Here in Australia, I hear that people will do anything to avoid LAX. Vancouver or Dallas were recommended.) The flight to Brisbane was about 3 hours late leaving but made up two hours on the flight so we were an hour late getting to Brisbane. Customs really wasn’t difficult, but then we had to get our next flights sorted. The flight I was supposed to take from Brisbane to Adelaide had been cancelled, so they put me on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney then Sydney to Adelaide. There were a lot of people who were in the same or similar situation so the line to recheck luggage was really long. Took about an hour to get through it.
In Brisbane, the international terminal and the domestic terminal are completely separate – as in 2 km apart. They had a free bus or cabs.
The flight to Sydney left a little late because of “a complicated load calculation.” The flight attendant came by and told me that they were holding the flight to Adelaide for me and that I should come up to the front just before they turned off the seatbelt sign. Fortunately in Brisbane they had checked my carry-on so I just had a bag. Unfortunately, as we approached the airport, we suddenly accelerated. I had never been in a go-round on a commercial flight. They said the tail winds were too high. By the time we circled back around and landed, they had already sent the other flight on. So, they put me on the next flight to Adelaide.
By the time I got to Adelaide, I had been traveling for about 45 hours. In a stroke of brilliance that I’m surprised I was capable of at that point, I bought food for dinner and breakfast at the airport. They actually had a good bakery there. I got a cab to my apartment because there was no way I had enough brain cells to figure out the buses at that point. As we went into town, the cab driver was really quiet until I made the mistake of telling him I liked his music. (It was great 80s rock.) Then he asked where I was from. When I told him, he said he was hoping Trump would win! I asked him why and he said that Trump would focus on America and leave the rest of the world alone. (I don’t think he’s heard many of Trump’s speeches or his 60 Minutes appearance.) I told him I didn’t think Trump would leave the rest of the world alone. He’s Greek and had lived in Greece for a long time but had to come back to Australia after the economic collapse. Understandably, he hates the EU. He said, “What the Germans failed to do with two world wars, they are doing economically through the EU.” I wasn’t really up to a political debate at that point, but it was interesting to hear what other countries think about our politics.
I really like the apartment. It’s great and it’s right in the middle of lots of places to eat, etc. Saturday night and Sunday I basically slept. I did manage to get out and buy food for Monday’s breakfast and Indian takeaway for dinner. (It was delicious and right next door to my apartment. Will be eating there a lot, I think.)
Monday morning I headed to the University. Google maps were no help at all. I went the wrong way but fortunately the people on the street were happy to help. Just after I got directions to the City East campus of my university, a student came up and asked me for directions to the City West Campus. I couldn’t help, of course, but a man overheard our conversation and helped him. I thought it was amusing that two students ended up lost on the same corner but looking for different campuses.
When I finally did find the campus, the people were super friendly and supportive. I’ll write more about the research separately, but it’s been great so far. I managed to get set up on a computer, get my ID card, print, find the toilet AND find my way back, and get lunch (vegetarian pasty! Why don’t we have these in the States?). So a successful first day, I feel.
I bought a backpack in the bookstore for the trip back. I didn’t realize how much paper I would be carrying and how bad it would be on my back to carry it with a shoulder bag. On the way back, I finally found a store that carries maps, so I got a map. I also got a metro card since I will be needing to go to another campus sometimes. I got a little bit lost again, which was bad because I was exhausted but good because I found a great bakery that’s close to my apartment. By the time I got home, I was completely exhausted. I don’t know if it was jet lag, the newness of everything, or more walking than I’m used to, but I went to bed at 7:30. Still dragging a little today, but at least I managed to walk directly to the campus without getting lost so YAY!
This evening I’ll probably start taking pictures. At first, I just wanted to take everything in without juggling a phone but I’m feeling a little more comfortable now.
This trip should be good for me, health wise. There is lots of fresh produce available, the Mountain Dew is not that good, and I’m walking a lot more than usual.
To those of you who have read this far, thanks! Future updates should be more interesting.
Hey, there's a petition to have our WA state superdelegates vote for whoever is elected by our state! "Please remember that you are officially unpledged delegates (Party Rule 9.A and 9.B). Let the voters decide. Pledge to support the candidate who gets the most pledged delegate votes at the Democratic National Convention. Follow the lead of average Democratic party voters and uphold authentic democracy."
Since most of them have said they will vote for Clinton and Sanders looks like he will win, this could be important!

My daughter and I were talking about how Jupiter Ascending is Rocky Horror Picture Show levels of insane.
We decided that we don't have to wait 20 years to develop the audience participation call backs and actions.
Our first ideas are under the cut, because technically, spoilers.
Every time Jupiter and Caine have a "love" scene, bark.
When Jupiter meets the bees, put on a crown. (Or throw Cards Against Humanity "Bees?" or "Sean Bean" cards)
When Jupiter asks how the gravity boots work, drown out Caine's answer with "I don't know! I don't know!"
When Kalique goes into the bath, yell "It's people." (If you don't get the reference, Google Soylent Green)
When Kiza leaves for the grocery store, there should be something that points out that we never see her again and Stinger apparently abandons her when he gets back in the army.
I'm so impressed with the way my daughter is adjusting to college. I teach in the college she's attending (in a different department) and I'm the sponsor of one of the clubs she's in, so I get the unique privilege of having her moved out but still getting to generally know how it's going.
I work with a lot of college freshmen and the first quarter is NOT easy on a residential campus. Everything is new. You don't know how to feed yourself, get clean clothes, find your classes, etc. Almost everyone you meet is new. Even without challenging classes, the novelty is difficult for most people's brains. It's also easy to get really unbalanced between classes, social life, sleep, etc.
But she's doing really well. She's had quite a few issues to deal with, including roommate issues, but as they come up, she finds out how to cope with them and solves them. She manages her time well. She's not afraid to eat alone in the cafeteria or go her own way, but she's also made some good friends.
She's had a few times when she was discouraged, but she's made it through that and hasn't given up. I always feel awkward saying I'm proud of my kids, because it feels like I'm trying to take credit for their accomplishments, but I am proud to be associated with her.
