Featuring post-game Fire Seraph!Sorey and his very lovely boyfriend enjoying some well-earned time in the hot springs after saving the world.
Two ceramic mugs full of hot chocolate sat long forgotten on the stone rim of the hot springs. Both seraphim bathing beside them were far too occupied to remember that the two cups even existed; Mikleo was busy resting, and Sorey—
—well, Sorey couldn’t take his eyes off of him.
He laid there, all porcelain skin and pale aquamarine hair, head tilted back on a folded white towel, every bit of tension ebbed from his form like he had just submerged into a sweet and well-deserved slumber. Sorey’s green eyes wandered over the Grand Seraph from the gleaming golden circlet high on his brow, to the ends of his long hair tied into a high and messy—but flattering—bun. From the gentle brush of his dark lashes against his cheeks, to the slight part of his rosy lips, dusted with the steam drifting from the springs. The hot water lapped at slender shoulders, beckoning touch, calling Sorey’s attention up to a long and tempting neck.
And really, the fire seraph supposed he should let Mikleo be. He should let him rest and enjoy the relaxing heat. Maotelus knew the water seraph deserved it after everything he had been through these past centuries while Sorey slept.
But…
Sorey leaned forward. His own golden hair long, thin, and tied into a far messier bun on the top of his head than Mikleo’s graceful, fuller one, wobbled and loose strands that wouldn’t stay in place fell to tickle the bare skin of his back. Tenderly, he placed his lips on the side of Mikleo’s neck, center between the line of his jaw and the curve of his collar.
Mikleo jolted under the kiss with a gasp. It did wonders for how warm Sorey was beginning to feel.
“Sorey…!” Mikleo scolded with a hushed whisper.
Sorey just smiled. He leaned up and kissed the corner of his lover’s jaw. The water seraph’s next shuddering breath made something curl low in Sorey’s gut.
“Sorry,” Sorey lied, “Couldn’t help it.”
“Yes, well…” A pleasant flush spread up from Mikleo’s shoulders to his neck. He lifted a hand from the water and pressed it against Sorey’s tanned shoulder. “…perhaps you can help the temperature of the sauna. It’s getting a little warm here, don’t you think?”
Sorey chuckled. With a light press of his nose, he tilted Mikleo’s head to the side to press another kiss to right under the side of his jaw. “That’s the idea.”
“No, Sorey—I mean the actual water. I think you’re making it far hotter than it should be.”
Oh.
Sorey blinked and pulled back. His eyes darted to the water as it grew cloudy with heat, bubbles beginning to form just under the surface. With an embarrassed flush, the fire seraph reined back the exuding heat he could feel simmering out from under his skin. He ducked low, his chin brushing the still water. “Oops.”
Mikleo merely chuckled. “Not to say that I don’t, um…appreciate your attentions. But if you are so intent, perhaps you could put such energies into warming something else?”
Sorey straightened. A wide and eager grin split his face. “Oh? Like what—?”
Mikleo reached back and grabbed the two mugs still lying innocently to the side. He pushed them forward into his partner’s chest, who quickly scrambled to grasp them before they fell into the springs. “These could probably do with a little heating, I think. They’re getting cold.”
Sorey blinked. He watched with wide eyes the smirk that spread across Mikleo’s visage as he closed his eyes and leaned back against the lip of the sauna again with a contented sigh.
The fire seraph huffed. “You’re doing this on purpose.”
Mikleo’s smirk only stretched wider.
