AKOTSK x reader : Wearing your House Colours
Marriage between two houses normally brings the two together in unison, however would all the AKOTSK lads agree with this? What colours would you wear when you're married to each of them? Starring an all star cast of : Aerion, Maekar, Daeron, Baelor, Vaalar, Lyonel, Dunk
A/N: my writing device is broken and in the shop for repairs. I have so many ideas that I have been unable to get out without my device. Please enjoy this out of the usual piece from me.
Aerion : Say goodbye to your house colours because it is all crimson, gold, and black from here on out. Aerion would gift you with elaborate statement pieces of dragon themed jewellery for you to wear. A pure gold dragon necklace with the wings spread out agaisnt your collarbone, with the darkest red garnets money could buy for the eyes. He would prefer your dresses to be low cut for his eyes but then proceed to get jealous and possessive when other Lords stare. Thanks to his incessant need to mark you, you would most likely order dresses that cover your arms and chest (much to his dismay) with beautifully embroidered dragons. Despite how much he loves his house colours on you, he'd still prefer your dress to be on his floor by the end of the night.
Maekar : No more house colours for you, sorry! Not because he's possessive or hates your colours, nay! Just because they don't go with theaesthetic. He can't be over here with all the Maeklerings all decked out in their funeral colour pallette while you're wearing such cheery bright colours, it simply wont do. Imagine how thrown off the family portraits would be. That being said you could show plenty of house pride in your jewellery, bonus points if you add a dragon to it somehow. Your cloaks, dresses, veils, and any other throw ons could also be embroidered with your house sigil or a theme of your house. eg, stars for Daynes, wolves for Starks, bats for Lothston. I do not think he would take issue with that at all. Especially if the gowns are well made with elaborate stitch work and design. He enjoys the complexity of a simple shape with true artistry put behind it when it comes to your dresses. He's got quite the eye for fashion, much to his dismay.
Daeron : Unlike the rest of his family, Daeron would love if you wore your house colours instead. If you were a Dayne or if you house had some purple to it, he would dress in the same tones for solidarity. He isn't a big fan of his house, if it wasn't for his Targaryen blood he wouldn't have those damn dreams and he wouldn't be a prince. So be gone with the blacks and reds! Although that would be the majority of his closet gone... Daeron would buy you gifts that remind you of your house. Necklaces with your house's animal or arms. Earrings with gems the same colour as your house. They wouldn't be over the top pieces, they would be simple ones. Things he found while around, things he forgot he commissioned for you. To him it's neither dress nor jewels that make you beautiful, it's just your utter being and your sense of self that makes you heavenly. You could wear a sack for all he cares, or nothing for all he prefers.
Baelor : He is heir to the throne, the future king. So it isn't like he doesn't want you to wear your own colours but more that he needs you to wear his. He needs you to stand beside him as one, to help him through the journey ahead as a single unit. He finds ways to help you sneak a bit of your house in your looks. Earrings bearing a resemblance to your coat of arms, anklets covered in your house colours, necklaces where the chain on the back has either a jewel of your house colour or a small making of your coat of arms. Your dresses would have elaborate embroidery, with patterns of flames, dragons, the red keep even, among it all would be a small embroidery of your house's motif. A small reminder that you are still you. Baelor would prefer off the shoulder dresses, because they're still elegant, cause no drama, and he gets to see more of your body when he's simply too busy to see the rest in private. Your dresses would be more red than they are black, because he finds black too dreary to be on his lovely spouse. He would not make a widow of you just yet.
Vaalar : You would wear a 50% your house colours and 50% his house colours. During events like tournaments, feasts, or balls you would wear his colours to match him. It's the easiest way to say 'That's my man!' but when you're just doing your day to day? You would just wear your colours, or both if the colours compliment each other nicely enough. You could wear jewellery of your house, gems of your houses colours, and even elaborate summer dresses with fine patterns that resemble your house. To some it would look like you're not even married. And it isn't because you don't enjoy house Targaryen's style or that you're ashamed, simply Vaalar wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to messing with your closest, so he thinks that it is best left to the expert - you. He loves your pride for your house, your freewill, and your fine garments. He especially loves when they're tailored for the summer in King's Landing, the way the fabric flows around you like some higher being. He enjoys your fashion choices so much in fact, if you'd like you could dress him up; although his closest is made up of primarily dark colours. He wouldn't mind getting something with your colours commissioned, even if he can only wear it in private.
Lyonel : Lyonel would say that he doesn't mind what colours you wear buuuut you'd quickly find that any dresses he commissioned for you are in Baratheon yellow. Gifts of fine jewellery would be made up of topaz, yellow sapphires, and high quality citrine. If you refused to wear any of your newly gifted goods, you'd find your dresses and jewels in your house colours were always mysteriously in the wash; even though you swear you hadn't worn them for awhile. Lyonel would gleam when he'd see you in his house colours, commenting on how radiant it makes you look, how well the colours suit, and how lovely it is that you're now matching! If you were receptive to the Baratheon colours, Lyonel would fashion you your own antler crown; that way you two would really look matchy matchy! He is incredibly generous when it comes to dolling you up, he loves to be the one to pick out your outfits. He'd especially love anything risque, low cut, uniquely shaped, and flowey. He despises anything stiff, and covered up - he just wants you to be able to dance with him.
Dunk : Dunk isn't a lord and doesn't come from a house. He would have no issues with you wearing your house colours. However if you asked him to join you, especially if he had gained a lordship through your marriage; he'd definitely be thrown off having to wear such a specific colour. He'd feel quite silly but would cheer up when he sees you lighting up at the fact he's in your colours. Dunk would pick you wildflowers that resembled your house colours. If he had the coin and was in the market, he'd buy you jewels fitting the same colours you grew up in. If your house had an animal motif he would definitely spend his time embroidering or carving you that critter. He he could not afford to buy you jewels, he'd spend his time making you wooden ones instead. He didn't mind what clothes you wore, he was gobsmacked by anything you came out in; elaborate or not. He is just so smitten with you that clothes only add to the experience.
