Well then, which do you prefer? The sword or The Shield?

That’s one of the hardest questions for Gen 8 right now for me! This generation has got to be the hardest time I’ve ever had with choosing one version over the other.

With previous generations, it felt like a really easy choice; whether it was the legendaries, version exclusives, or contrasting themes, I usually knew which one I would prefer pretty early on. SuMo, I preferred Moon because I like the Moon theme. ORAS, I preferred Kyogre and got Alpha Sapphire, but thought Team Magma had the better story line so I liked Omega Ruby more after playing both. Between X and Y, I got Y first because I just had a preference between leters and didn’t know how I felt about the legendaries et, and afterwards I preferred Y due to how Yveltal worked better in the story than I thought Xerneas did. Let’s Go, I love Eevee so it was obvious.

But for Sword and Shield so far? Both legendaires are designed in a very similar way, intentionally so. They’re a pair that seems designed to go together rather than be apposed, mainly do to the concepts themselves. We still don’t know how they’ll factor into the story. And they’ve introduced a few big version exclusive differences with the Gyms, and now certain Galarian forms with Sirfetch’d being Sword exclusive.

Between the two, I like Zacian as a legendary more. But I also like Allister as a Gym Leader more than I do Bea. But I also want to use Sirfetch’d at some point. And there could be even more version differences that we don’t know yet! So it’s really hard for me to make a decision because each one keeps adding specific things that pull me back and forth between them.

So as of right now, I have no idea what I’ll get! I just need to keep waiting and see more trailers and info released before I can make a solid choice.

Howdy. I don't if this the right time ask, but......have you been drawing Fire emblem for a while? Ryoma and Corrin lately I mean? I know your busy with, somehow your passion of Dragon ages, and some others.

I haven’t lately, due to my attention being pulled in 100 directions be it work or leisure (I’ve only fired up FE on my 3DS a few days ago after 1/2 a year). But you know what? Now is a good time as any!

There’s been Xander & Shiro written but afaik all the others are still unwritten :)
