While I grew up loving the space program from early childhood, I wasn't really into Trek in the 60's. In fact, I probably didn't really pay attention until I caught the series as afternoon reruns, watching it in the top-floor lounge of my LMU dorm in 1976. But I got hooked when TNG (The Next Generation) came on the air in the late 1980s. It turned out that my TNG fandom was something I had in common with the lovely Denise Valverde.
