A Friend in Need (Mycroft X Fem!Reader) *PLATONIC *TRIGGER WARNING: SELF HARM AND PANIC ATTACK

SERIOUS WARNING: SELF HARM AND PANIC ATTACKS

Request: Could you make a fanfiction where reader is Mycrofts secretary but then she didnt showed up to work althrough she always does and didnt mention anything. Mycroft finds her with a panic attack on the roof, and is surprised for never noticing her cuts and her panic disorder

Mycroft checked his watch for the seventh time. You were late, and he was in need of your help. You were his secetary, and one of the few people Mycroft actually liked the company of in his job. You were patient with him, understanding, and he considered you a friend. You were also hard working, which was needed for the job you were given. So being five minutes late, never mind an hour, was strange and concerning to your boss.

He eventually decided it was time to go looking for you within the building. He knew you had came in- you had said good morning to him that morning, but after that, never heard a word from you, and that’s when his worry started.

Exiting his office, he saw yours that was right outside his door. Your seat was empty, but not tucked under the table, like how you would usually leave it. He walked around the desk. “How would Sherlock…” He mumbled to himself as he examined your desk. Your computer was still on, as well as your handbag and coat, showing you hadn’t left the building, or had the intention of leaving. He looked around, seeing you no where. The only people who gained access to the manor in which he worked and lived, was you, his brother Sherlock, and those in the similar line of work to him. No one had come in to visit, and it was you to give them access inside anyway. He knew he had no other choice but to go searching.

He searched the tea room, the dining room, the kitchen, the living room, but found nothing, so he went up to the second floor- knocking on every closed door in case you were in use of a bathroom, but each was unlocked and empty.  That only left one floor, and that lead right to the rooftop, and with that thought, he felt the dread filling his stomach, and he couldn’t help his increase in pace as he rushed up the stairs, reaching the top and immediately swinging open the doors. It was only then did he stop.

You were there. But you weren’t your usual self. He had known you to go up there for your breaks, as a way of getting fresh air, or to clear your head when work wasn’t piled up, of if the manor was full and Mycroft just needed to talk to you. He had noted you’d found a spot on the furthest wall, leaning against it, a little to the side of the centre of it, as that spot was reserved for him, and when you’d see him, you’d send a pleasant smile. But he’d been standing at the door for about a minute now, and you hadn’t even noticed him- the only other person to be there with you. This was because you were curled up against the wall, clutching the clothes on your chest into your tight fist, whimpering through you sharp and harsh breaths, your head hidden into your knees.

Mycroft didn’t know what to do. He’s never experienced this before- he’s never had to. All his work was mostly clean and simple, the forensics and those below him dealing with the nitty and gritty… But he couldn’t just leave you- you were his friend, someone he relied on, and he knew he had to return the favour somehow.

“Y/N?” He called, rushing over to your shaking body. On closure inspection, he heard your cries, and when you heard him, your dominant hand moved from your shirt to gripping the wrist of your other hand, and you forced your head up to look at him to confirm it was Mycroft, before digging it even deeper down. He quickly realised you weren’t in the right state to be touched or handled, as it would only cause more panic in you, so instead he opted to get onto his knees, before sitting beside you.

“Y/N dear, I know you can hear me. You need to listen to me, alright? I need you to attempt to calm yourself down, alright?” He asked as calmly as he could. You nodded, taking a deep breath in before you tried to breathe out, though you breathed in quickly several times. You tried to raise your head, but it was like a hundred hands were forcing it down. “Keep your head down sweetheart- you’ll make yourself light headed. If you need to, just turn it to look at me.”  He ordered. You followed, turning your head to look at him. He leant down a bit to send a smile for you to see. “There we go. Come on now. Anything you need me to do?” He asked. He watched you carefully as he hesitantly pulled your least dominant hand out to him. That’s when his observation caught something.

Your sleeves that were usually concealed under your work jacket, only reached your forearm, and your jacket was downstairs, exposing your lower arm, that was littered with red slashes, and he wasn’t an idiot to what they were. However, he didn’t spend long in staring, quickly taking your hand and squeezing it, and giving your knuckle a quick kiss before running his thumb up and down your skin.

He watched your state closely as your breathing slowed. You had managed to shift your body to lean on him, and he used his other arm to wrap it around you to try and warm you up. By this point you were tucked under him, and unable to see his face. Mycroft was glad you couldn’t because all he could feel was guilt. How long had you been suffering, while he’d been complaining of his own selfish problems to you? Had he been so blind? So ignorant? How did he not know you had such dire problems? A panic disorder for crying aloud was easy to spot- never mind self harm! He’d been trained for this, and he felt like such a failure- he had failed you.

“M-Mycroft?” You called quietly, making him react and look down at you, wanting to do the best of his ability to help you. “Can we go downstairs… please?”

“Yes- of course- you must be freezing.” He answered quickly. You let him stand up, before he helped you up, and as you walked away to the stairs, he never let you of you.

Would you, by any chance, be able to do an imagine based off of the Peter Parker x bulimic reader that I requested a while ago? If not that's fine. X

Peter wasn’t sure whether it was the spider senses or just the fact that he’d known you for so long, but he knew that something about you had changed recently, and it was definitely not a good change.

You were losing weight. At first he thought you were just going to lose a little bit for summer… but then you kept getting thinner… and thinner… and it scared him. That wasn’t the only thing he noticed either. He took note that you did eat- you sat and ate with him in school. However, you’d excuse yourself not long after and come back a bit out of character, and your glands were swollen. He noticed that you seemed to hide yourself in oversized clothes. He noticed that your knuckles were raw and bruised and last time he checked, you were definitely not one to go around picking fights.

He knew that he had to do something. Eventually he got a good time to act when he invited you over to his house to do homework and just relax. His Aunt May announced she had to pop out for a few hours to run some errands, and that’s when he decided to ask. “Y/N?” He called, making you look up. You could immediately tell something was bothering him. “Are you okay?” He asked. You nodded, hoping to avoid anything more. “Why don’t I believe that?” He asked you.

“Peter, I’m fine.” You tried to reassure, but ended up flinching a little when he took your hand.

“I’ve noticed, you know. I’ve seen the bruises- and you’ve lost so much weight and your neck always looks agitated. I’m not an idiot, Y/N… please… tell me what’s going on.” He begged you. You could barely look him in the eye, knowing that this was it. There was no way he’s going to let you out his sight without knowing.

“I think I have an eating disorder.” You admitted to him quietly, but he heard you. You knew he did. He sat up straight. “I think I have bulimia.”

Not a lot of homework happened that night, it was more of just Peter holding you so tightly like you might disappear, calling you beautiful and reassuring you. You could tell he was trying to be brave for you, but he was lost and terrified on what to do and how to actually help.

After you went home, he spent the rest of the night researching on eating disorders and bulimia till he knew everything that the internet could provide. He even went to a library and a hospital for leaflets and further explanation. He wanted to make sure he was doing the right thing.

The next day, you saw his change around you. He was complimenting you more. When you’d leave after eating, you found him outside waiting. He’d not say anything, just sadly smile and rub your back, sending reassurance. Eventually though he started to work with you. “How about you only try something small and… stay here with me?” He asked lightly. It was worth a shot.

It took a while. It took a while to eat something and to keep it down, but after a while you could do it with care. Slowly, more and more was added to the plate.

There was relapses though. Relapsed when that food was too much and you bloated, or if someone even made a hint towards your weight. When you first relapsed, you were scared Peter would be mad… but he wasn’t. He just came and sat beside you. “I-I’m sorry…”

“Don’t be. It’s a work in progress, right? We’re not gonna get it perfect first time, right? We’ve just got to be patient.” He reassured you. You looked up at him confused for a second.

“We?” You questioned, getting a nod from him.

“Yeah, I’m with you every step of the way. We’re a team, you’re not doing this alone.” He reminded you, giving you a light squeeze to bring you close. The thought was all the reassurance you need.
