Me complaining about pacing in Playboyy under the cut
You know, the fact that we saw this gorgeous breakdown with Zouey literally trying to strip and demand sex and we didn't get anything but the after-aftermath, none of the actual discussion or the secrets or how they reached a calmer state... just the discussion after the discussion in which Teena says he told him all his secrets and it's just... why did we skip the actually important parts? What did Teena tell him? Why did Teena know about the tape? Why did Teena instantly take that as an attack on himself? Why did any of that happen?
Oh.
Nope.
We just get the 'I told you all my secrets!' sulk instead.
This show has some of the worst emotional pacing.
And it's because there are too many characters and too many pairings and too many stories trying to be told at the same time and it means that things are being cut out that can't be cut but have to do to fit everyone in.
Jump and Porsche didn't exist in an entire episodes, Captain and Keen are barely in this episodes, Aob and Puen didn't get introduced until more than a quarter of the way through the show and have basically no connection to anything in terms of their romance, Soong's romantic and hurt feelings were never faced and then he get tortured, Teena and Zouey's fight doesn't get a denouement...
Sigh.
