hey so i just stumbled upon a video on instagram where a guy said “steve don’t sacrifice yourself for dustin, let mike do it- nobody cares about mike” and EVERYONE in the comments was agreeing- as a mike wheeler defender till the day that i DIE, im so pissed because EVERYONE IS HATING ON THE FREAKS IN A SHOW THAT’S LITERALLY MADE ABOUT AND FOR THE FREAKS, the outsiders. The Walking Dead

So this show is addicting. This story line is pretty captivating. But I have to admit, there is some blatant sexism in this show. 

It's the end of the world and you're having the women do laundry and cook? Only the men can shoot guns? Women can't learn to shoot? You're cool with your son calling you "a housewife"? Domestic violence is not punished? You don't take women on their word? A 22 year old can't have consensual sex? Glenn's comment about women being emotional on their periods, how they call sync? Are you serious right now? 

And then Carl steals a gun, asks to lean how to use it, AND IS GIVEN PERMISSION after he was just shot? But the women of the group, grown adults, don't get anything? And if they do, they have to repeatedly ask for it? Where is the logic in that? 

It's the apocalypse and you're still misogynistic ass holes? There really is no hope is there?

I think it's pretty silly that you can post factual statistics gathered by well respected secular research groups about the global persecution of Christians and people on this site will still dispute it...

My family keeps trying to tell me that because I'm a virgin I know nothing about sex ed and biology and nothing I say can convince them. Our specific argument about the hymen because they said "it's impossible to have sex without tearing the hymen" and I'm sitting here facepalming because masturbation isn't a thing that can happen so that your hymen is stretched before some idiot goes fucking postal on your vagina. 

I mean, at least I got them to admit that the hymen is elastic and can shrink back to it's original size.... 

And for some reason they think yahoo answers is a better source of information than Laci Green, who gives lectures on sex and has a degree from Berkley.
