[To reestablish the role of lawyers as servants of society and the bond-servants of justice, we must] recall lawyers to the service of the nation as a whole, from which they have been drifting away; to remind them that, no matter what or how great the necessity for specialization in their practice of the law, they are not the servants of special interests, the mere expert counsellors of this, that or the other group of business men; but guardians of the general peace, the guides of those who seek to realise by some best accomodation the rights of men.
