The years becoming
So small and fragile A whisper could corrupt you, Roses’ petals surround your white lips And your pretty hair tangles in the wind,
Be careful of thorns my dear, Your silk shall be ripped to shreds And purity forlorn,
Her wisdom grows with the spring bluebells And eyes made like fawns’ Capture those, Hidden in trees
She moves with the nature of a forest guest Wary and precise, Unwavering
‘I know you’ She says Unforgiving, ‘Lend me back to the way of the leaves’ And so the branches bend before her And the path is opened
A tenderness so free The birds could rest upon her shoulder Quite at ease,
And should a mockingbird Attempt it’s song, She may laugh And carry on,
Belying the dry earth She learns to draw her map, Circling and swooping An elegant swan,
Leading deep into her nest Hands cracking, The orange splits open Her beauty personified, Holy.
Tonight the universe is testing me more than ever: it’s asking me to forgive you, even though you’re not sorry.

unlearning is never pleasant—it’s uncomfortable in fact. it’s purposely choosing discomfort over a distorted pattern representing home. unlearning is heavy because it requires destruction, something that feels like the vandalisation of the reflexes from muscle to bone—hell, unlearning feels damn alone. how do i turn my back on what i know feels safe? how do i convince my body it’s for a good cause? how do i remind myself of the bigger picture, when the comfort zone i left behind is all i can think of? unlearning is growing pains, soreness of the mind. feeling like against your nature you’re rebelling, while in fact you and your purpose are starting to align.
