@sesshosekis sent: ❝ the trouble with sacrificial magic is it requires sacrifice. ❞ / Critrole Sentences

“...Sacrifices are made everyday. From a person’s time, to predator and prey.” Amusement flickers onto his expression for a fleeting second, before he tilts his head in question towards the other astral. Their kind was used to sacrifices as the played as pawns for the god of the stars--Astrals were known to take and he of all people shall grab whatever he can for his own selfish reason.
“Is guilt stopping you? There’s no need to feel guilt over something natural. If you do not take what you want, you will never have it.”

"Solo... As in, in bed?" Tama does not understand soloing a fight.
“.....as in a fight. Like, taking him on by themselves.....” Gran is so done.
@sesshosekis
“Ah, how very clever. A wonderful idea.”
Tamamo grins wide as he looks down at the two halves of the snack in his hands. A child out here with no family? He had thought the pup perhaps a beggar, someone who would run back to his parents with the day’s spoils.
However, he doesn’t allow his misgivings to show as he offers half the mooncake to Xue Yang.
“You are quite a clever child, I would have never thought of such a thing.” It might be false praise, but praise was something all children desired. How often did Aika and Yuto fight over his attention in the way twins often would, each vying for more of their ‘mother’s’ affection (no matter how he tried to split his love evenly).
“Does such a clever child have a name?”
His dirtied face breaks out into a broad smile and his grey eyes glitter in the sunlight. The nice, strange man just called him clever! Xue Yang wanted to be clever and smart.
“My name? I’m Xue Yang!” Bright, grey eyes go round with hunger as he smiles broadly and takes half of the offered mooncake. It instantly goes to his mouth and instead of wharfing it down he nibbles on the corner of it, savoring the sweetness as it fills his mouth. The boy makes a delighted sound as he closes his eyes and loses himself in the sweet cake for a moment.
“Thank you!” he exclaims when he looks back up to the tall man, still holding his piece of mooncake in his two hands protectively. “D-does Mister have a name, so I can thank him better?”

MOST OF HIS SHINKIGAMIS ENDURED tragic experiences before their paths crossed. Seimei is aware of this, for the recurring pattern is too difficult to ignore. Their movement about speaks the truth in the way they flourished their actions. He was not one to pry, but he hopes to be there should they seek help. The world hasn’t abandoned you. These words were promises he gave to many, but truthfully he was not so certain if he could achieve it---he wants to, but whether it was within in powers to do so was an entirely different set of problems. Life and death were a part of nature.
Tamamo had been watching children playing about the meadows when he approached, petals of cherry blossoms rained down in a shower of rain. ❝You seem to be absorbed into your thinking. Is something about the children that is interesting?❞

Ibaraki was silent for long moments.
Finally, he spoke.
“...I do not blame him for not remembering,” he said. “It would have been foolish of me to expect he could possibly have the same feelings for me as he once did. It’s not his fault.”
Despite trying to keep his voice level and unwavering Tamamo can hear his pain.
“If he can’t remember me why would he...why would he still...”
He couldn’t finish, his own emotions closed his throat as a tear rolled down his cheek unbidden, before he hastily wiped it away. He wants to think maybe he still loves him somehow. But at a moment like this it felt like wishful thinking.
“There has to be a way to restore his memories and power. there MUST. I will not rest til I find it and restore him to his former glory.”

❝Hey, you can’t just---❞ he caught himself, recalling that he hadn’t debated such guidelines with the twins. But, shouldn’t the rules of this game be universal? Before he could act though, the twins had already bounded his hands with vines they’d gathered from a nearby tree as if he was a criminal. You lost, Senior, you lost! Take your punishment! They chanted gleefully and began leading him towards the forest. Wei Wuxian didn’t know where they were going but found himself playing along and pretended to be restrained by the vines that it was impossible for him to escape. He wailed through the journey about nonsense such as the vines are going to break his wrists off or how his legs were tired, putting on a rather believable act as a captive. As he passed by Tamamo, he realized the strange man also shared some strange features with the twins---they both bore ears and a tail--and for a while, he was amused by it.
❝Hey, Brother, I know you yaos are strange, solitary creatures but do you always bring strangers home like that?❞ or more specifically, a cultivator. But he didn’t say that out loud, due to the impossibility of it being non-threatening no matter how he phrased it in his head.
