While ago, just for fun, i made a bunch of drawings for Sesssionbound that probably wasn't gonna make it into the work officially but i was interested in showing off how entering sburb in this universe would have looked like. But due to recent... developments, I don't really have it in to do anything with these anymore but i still like the art so I'm gonna post it anyway.
The general context can be found beneath all the art.
After a few suggestion box shenanigans, Creepen is attacked by a mysterious figure. Moments after nearly dying, he realizes he’s surrounded by hundreds of these identical attackers. Before he can react, he’s suddenly saved by a near-identical version of himself — this other Creepen wields a fishing net that stuns the horde in place.
His savior shouts at him to “answer his damn phone.” Confused, Creepen checks it and realizes he has several missed messages from Dave.
He's been trying to warn him, as just before he had a dream where he were attacked by himself on Derse, then woke up to another him attacking in the real world.
After he picks up the phone he i guided into starting the game.
things that might be handy to know:
Dave gave Creepen Homestuck The Mega Collection plus the day the two first met, specifically “for emergencies.”
The game was made by Furthest Ring Studios, a now-defunct developer that only ever made this one game — it bombed because no one knew how to play it.
The “Gamesphere” console it was meant for never released publicly, and only devkits exist (which Dave happen to have four of).
People have tried emulating it, but it’s impossible to crack because the game files are massive — beyond what normal tech can handle.
The only accessible part has ever been the “Extras” menu which were released in 2009, which contained a full digital copy of the entire Homestuck comic.
Dave secretly hid one of his devkit Gamespheres in Creepen’s closet for when this exact kind of situation arose and he refuses to elaborate on all he knows.
