Seth Strider
[Fandom: Hunger Games
Appears in: Fire and Ice:The 43rd Hunger Games by Hoprocker/Hipengy/twilitprincess]
Name: Seth Strider Age: 17 [He actually turns 17 on the Reaping day, haha.] Gender: Male District: 3 Second Option for District: 5 Appearance (ex. Hair, eyes, build, skin tone): Cold, analytic gray eyes in a pale, emotionless face are the first things you’ll notice about this eccentric adolescent. Only strands of his straight, blue-black hair get in the way of his intense, scrutinizing gaze. He is on the tall side, with a perfectly lean frame. Personality: Seth is a reclusive individual, only speaking with people if he necessarily has to, or if they manage to intrigue him to a certain degree. He is said to be ‘one of the most intelligent kids of his age’; although no one save for his parents can truly prove that, as Seth barely interacts with the other ‘kids’ in his district. Instead, he prefers dwelling and analyzing Panem’s history, as well as tinkering — and practicing — with the prototype weapons his parents secretly created. Family/Background: Seth’s parents, for reasons unknown to him, barely spend time with him, choosing to work on their illegal weapons instead of giving their son the unconditional love and support the boy oh-so-desperately needed. With no siblings to talk to, the young Seth became a self-introvert, focusing himself on technology and days of yonder past. [He’s also a self-proclaimed, ‘smart-ass’, heh.] Strengths: A natural born strategist, Seth is most likely to see through any traps and be able to discern any flaws in a plan. He is extremely swift; he even earned the moniker of ‘speed-demon’ from his parents once — when they, in once in a blue moon, noticed him through the shock of his speed. Weaknesses: Seth isn’t exactly the strongest person; in fact, he only has enough strength to lift his weapon. He also doesn’t have any social tact whatsoever, thus making people vexed at him — which isn’t a good thing for alliances; as well as possibly marking him a target should he spurn any Careers/other tributes. View on Killing: Seth wouldn’t hesitate to kill someone in self-defense; however, he does hold the value of life to certain sentimental view and would never take someone’s life for entertainment. Weapon of Choice: Scythe Arena Strategy: Seth’d scope out the arena straight-away, seeing if there’s anything he would be able to manipulate/tamper with so as to help with his survival. He’d also observe his opponents for a while, giving each and every one careful speculation before deciding to team up with a fellow tribute. [Or a few, heh.] Chosen or Volunteered?: Chosen. [Seth, quoting in his own words, “wouldn’t dare sign up for that convoluted Capitol hoax of twisted festivities.”]
Reaping Reaction: Seth would be shocked at being picked, though you wouldn’t be able to tell as his face would be devoid of emotion, as usual. He’d head to the stage while scrutinizing the female tribute. When called upon to shake hands, however, Seth would stare uncomprehendingly at his fellow tribute, unsure how the ‘hand-shaking’ procedure is suppose to go. And when the female tribute tires of waiting for him and just takes his hand, he inwardly wonders if that was an advanced form of a mating ritual. Career?: He’d debate joining the Careers, weighing the cons and pros, and comparing and contrasting the aspects of their personality; therefore eventually computing them to the chance of his survival. He most likely wouldn’t, though, as past tributes from D1 and D2 are known to be fickle and too bloodthirsty. Bloodbath?: Seth would bend his speed to his will by taking a weapon (his scythe preferably) and another object of important (like a backpack/water canister/whatever) and run the heck out of there in order to explore the arena. Alliances?: He’d put cautious thoughts before risking an alliance with anyone. But he’ll most likely ask in a formal, cordial manner. [It’d be fun to put him in an alliance, though XD His lack of social knowledge would prompt him do to hilariously awkward things; like if his fellow tribute was unconscious, Seth’d vaguely recall someone from D4 doing CPR and attempt to save said fellow tribute by somewhat kissing them XD XD XD He also has no sense of ‘personal space’ and nudity doesn’t bother him :P] Romance?: Despite the fact that Seth doesn’t care for such frivolities and thinks romance is “a massive waste of time”, it would be extremely interesting if someone, hot-blooded and energetic, (in contrast to Seth’s laid-back indifference) would capture his heart without his notice, ahaha. Any preference on how they should die? If not, why should they win?: After seeing his fellow tribute (in the alliance) doing something stupid (to Seth, at least) [like say, steal something from the Careers, before running away,] Seth would engage the Career(s) in battle. Unfortunately, his speed doesn’t do much to help him, as he is cornered/surrounded. Cursing himself inwardly for his folly, Seth turns to glance at where his teammate ran off. “Idiot,” he murmurs, a wry smile forming on his lips as the Career(s) end his life. Chariot Outfit Idea: [It ends up being bombs, lol.] Interview Outfit: A midnight blue tuxedo with glowing, light blue technological stripes running over it. [Um, something like Tron Legacy? ^^;] Interview Angle: Seth would appear calm, collected and smooth in the interview. He’d make a few risky remarks about the Capitol, to which Caesar would vehemently try to deter the conversation to the Hunger Games. Seth’d then comment on the perplexities/simplicity of the other tributes’ personalities, much to their chagrin. Last of all…which of these (does your tribute feel) is the lesser of two evils? Fire or Ice?: Seth would probably say that ‘Ice’ is the lesser of two evils, as he feels that humanity has more of a chance to survive in cold conditions, as opposed to the destructive, all-consuming flames.
