Harmless Warmth
Bare feet entangled in the grass and my mind clear as day. The sickly sweet smell of the gardinas fill the hot summer air, the warm breeze carrying the aroma all the way to me.
Staring up at the sky, dragon flies buzz over my eyes and the sun shines on my tan skin. I squint slightly to relieve myself of the brightness of today.
All morning I had been walking outside and I still am, originally it was caring for the chickens. I fed them and checked up on the hens eggs and went on to do my other chores, sweeping the porch, picking the weeds and once I was finished I decided to relax.
I fell into the grass and closed my eyes, that once sweat inducing heat relaxing me to a sleepy sort of feeling. My arms supporting my head and for the first time today it was quiet and still.
