sevsartstuff replied to your post: Martial arts was fun while I did it, but grappling...
Fair enough, if you donāt enjoy it. I enjoyed jiu-jitsu, even the ground work and the challenge of it. Doing Tae Kwon Do now, and sometimes I miss practicing close distance techniques (either throws or ground).
I may have just been dealing with a bad introduction and group to work with. I dunno, there was just nothing enjoyable for me in it. Throws and standing techniques were fun, even submissions, I just felt like I was wasting my time if I wasnāt spending more time training upright.Ā
@sevsartstuff Look what came in the mail! My mailman is still mad. He chews up my mail but itās still in good shape. Thanks :D
sevsartstuff replied to your post ā7 followers left, which of you sons a bitches wanna make me a legendā
How did that even happen?
If you make too many joke posts you pass the 1000 followers line and are doomed to spend eternity in hell
sevsartstuff replied to your post: Dragonriders and sign language
Thatās a nice idea. Could some of the cleverer dragons learn/remember a number of signs too? Since (if I remember well) their intelligence level is a bit undefined but in any case a number of animals have been shown to understand sign language.
All dragons are trained with a combination of hand signals and verbal commands. How much verbal/signal ratio is used depends on the rider. Quen uses more verbal commands (mostly because he is very talkative), while Sai uses almost exclusively hand signals. Itās really a matter of preference.
The dragons are taught a lot of groundwork like horses (or dogs) are. Sit, down, stand, stay, come. Lift your foot, open/close your wing. Lower your head. Open your mouth. Walk into your harness. That sort of thing.
Riding commands are a lot like dressage-- it all depends on weight shifts, tightening of certain muscles, minute movements of the legs. All of them mean something to the dragon and can get them to take off/land, change direction, and any number of other things.
Thanks for asking!
18 and 21 for the art ask?
18. right now Iām trying to get good at just about everything. Since Iām trained in animation but interested in illustration and comics I kind of need to be good at a lot.
21. Yes. I like to push myself to make better and better art.
6 and 15 for the art ask?
6. If Iām not doing something intended to have a specific color scheme (like a character design) then I like to try and to use vibrant or odd color combinations. Iād say a lot of my color choice is inspired El Huervoās illustrations and the JJBA: DiU anime.
15. I do my best to work around it. Only once have I had a serious enough mistake where I had to go back and cover it over and re-do the whole area.Ā
Apologies for the phone photo, the scanner is on the fritz. Next set of dragon interactions! Also, my little wyvern is now named Hue!
Weāve got the two seconds before a mid-air crash with @sevsartstuffās amphitere.
I know you didnāt request anything, @wolfyttwisted, but I hadĀ to draw Derrgun. I had to.
I also had to draw @greekcelticās Alf. Because.
@theloadās dragon thinks Hue is entirely too close and should back off.
All done! Time to rest. You can see where I got tired and gave up on the scales. XD
Thank you for volunteering your dragons (or uh, having your dragons be volunteered)!
