i think my adhd diagnosis and separately understanding i am probably otherwise neurodivergent has like really impacted. me soory i forgot to say that/
like when i got into hadestown around october i was like "oh! this is a special interest and i am infodumping to my friends!" and in like january when i got obsessed with dead poets society for over a week and would get emotionally impacted thinking about it (ie starting to cry, smiling) i was like "oh! hey this might be a hyperfixation!" and then it continued for 4 months and now i'm like "yeah! this is my first genuine hyperfixation that i've been able to recognize!"
so it's really no surprise that i got such a visceral reaction to a sfanw song playing because like oh! with my mental conditions and possible disabilities i get unnecessarily fixated and interested in things that appeal to me! i didn't realize it but me basically listening to the soundtrack on repeat for multiple days (trying to listen to other songs, even other theatre songs, but ultimately skipping them until i reach a sfanw song) was probably a sign that this was a short-lived hyperfixation or an extreme special interest! thank you neurodivergency
