A bit of a long rant. (Tl;Dr at the end)
Okay, so there's this queer matchmaker community that I came across a while ago. I've really been interested in dating lately but I hadn't been sure about it for numerous reasons.
But, after a while of deliberating with myself, I've decided to try it.
My main reasons for not being sure were that: I'm not really the best with things/settings like servers--especially large ones (though this one isn't really large??), I've never been in a Tumblr community before so I'm not familiar with the environment, and--the biggest reason-- the fact that I'm alterhuman.
It's likely just silly overthinking and unneeded anxiety (I'm socially anxious in general and have suspected that I have some sort of social anxiety disorder and/or AvPD). But, I've looked through a few of the posts and haven't noticed any other alterbeings, so I worry that if I were to mention it, that it'd make the whole process more difficult.
[For added context, how this community works is that you'd post a little about me about yourself as an introduction and explain why you're in the community. You can join it for romantic and platonic purposes (finding partner(s) or friends). People would reach out under posts and I suppose it just goes from there. It's minor friendly, mostly targeted toward younger ppl and I've not noticed anyone above the age of 17 there anyway.]
To add fuel to the fire, I'm also into miscverse (SFW MISCVERSE. I simply say 'into' to mean that I'm a part of it). And, considering that misce stuff is even more niche than alterhumanity and, also, just *not as accepted/cringe and 'bad,' I feel as though it'd definitely be a deterent.
However, I'm hoping to find someone that's also alterhuman and also into misce--even if mildly as I'm not too heavily into it myself. And, obviously, it'd be easier to find this demographic if I cover it from the get-go. However, my concerns are with people having negative reactions/responses to it and I despise conflict. I just don't want to face harrassment.
The whole thing is probably a bad idea in general since it's a bit silly and a possible safety risk to look for companions, especially romantic partners, online. But I'm even worse socially irl and just won't be able to find the type of people I'm hoping to in my irl spaces.
Still, I'll give the thing a shot and see what comes of it. I may update about it but we'll see.

I think that I've finally figured out my scent >w< I'd say that my scent is lemon-lime + brown sugar, I doubt that I'll find any flags for it though =^
