After the last character intro post forever ago, here's the bios of the SG Fragmentation Stunticons!
I had these ideas for a while now, dunno why it took me forever to actually write it lmao.
And as a preface, SG Fragmentation AU runs on the logic of 'mostly inverting their original personalities'. These descriptions are purposefully extremely out of character. in oppositeland SG the absurdity is part of the game.
SG Motormaster: The team's leader and an excellent motivator adept at making others feel like important and valuable members of the faction whose efforts are appreciated, regardless of specific rank and duty. Despite his somewhat intimidating size, he's very sociable and easy to talk to. However, his effectiveness in battle is extremely hampered by his overly cautious personality. He's a very careful driver off duty... which unfortunately affects his performance during combat, as he struggles to let himself go beyond the usual speed limits, and rarely pulls off any more risky maneuvers even if it's well within his limits, holding back the true extent of his capabilities unless in an extremely dangerous situation where there is no other choice. Outside of that though, he's a very attentive and caring leader and brother, whose concern for others extend beyond his team to all Decepticons and allies. He's at least a bit frustrating to fight alongside due to his usual slowness and borderline excessive caution, but is nonetheless considered by many to be a valuable member to the Decepticon cause.
SG Dead End: An eternal optimist that always sees the best in everyone and every situation, with an attitude that sometimes borders on naivete or being insensitive. Also an extremely motivated fighter that never gives up until the battle is over or he physically can't anymore. Is prone to being lost in his thoughts or admiring the surrounding scenery while not in active combat when threat of death is imminent, and frequently ends up losing sight of where he is, literally being named after his tendency to drive and walk into dead ends, and is thus banned from going outside without supervision. Is the friendliest of the bunch next to his big brother, and enjoys group bonding activities, mostly involving singing and music in general. In fact, he is a big fan of many genres of music with an extensive collection of both digital recordings and physical records.
SG Breakdown: Adventurous and brave, sometimes to the point of recklessness, and is the most frequent medbay visitor due to rushing in to many situations without thinking. Breakdown thrives in being the center of attention, redirecting the enemies' sight for the rest of his team to get in close for the kill, and is really effective at doing so. The loudest of the bunch and enjoys being among crowds, humans and Cybertronians alike, though his high energy can lead some to consider him obnoxious. His desire for recognition is secretly motivated by insecurity as he sees his brothers as more talented and capable than himself, and the desire for him to be acknowledged as more than just a part of Menasor. While he still has his destructive engine like his canon counterpart, Breakdown is also surprisingly adept at fixing different kinds of weapons and machinery, and is basically the resident tech guy.
SG Drag Strip: His laid back appearance around his comrades and low-key attitude hides his sheer number of achievements. Due to his speed and tendency to not draw attention towards himself, Drag Strip is one of the go-to choices for recon and scouting missions for the Decepticons, and has quite the prolific career as a reconnaissance specialist outside of being a warrior of the Stunticons. Doesn't know how to handle compliments, since he sees his work as something done as part of his duty as a Decepticon rather than something to boast about for personal attention. Drag Strip's tendency to not put himself in the spotlight and put others first sometimes comes as a detriment, as his willingness to put himself in high risk situations to secure a victory and subsequent unwillingness to get repaired immediately resulted in some accumulated long term injuries and multiple stern lectures by the Constructicons.
SG Wildrider: His name is purely ironic, originating from a bet between the three Decepticon combiners to give one component an extremely ironic designation. Wildrider is actually the calm and collected team strategist, whose general stoic demeanor usually throws others off, and is considered the least approachable of the Stunticons. He prefers reading in peace and quiet, though he will not object to hanging out with the rest of his team when they ask him. Sets strict schedules for himself and doesn't really like deviating from it. Although he loves his team and brothers and will not trade them for the world, their varying quirks and flaws more often than not throw a wrench into how he originally envisions a battle will go. Although he's capable of adapting his plan on the fly, Wildrider will always feel a little bit miffed that things don't go as planned, and he loathes fighting against enemies that are especially unpredictable.
I remember very little of Transformers Prime since it’s been so long but MAN. I’m imagining Shattered Glass Breakdown meeting Shattered Glass Megatron being lowkey kind of adorable.
Because in the original, Breakdown respected Megatron highly, probably because of what Megatron ONCE stood for, which was equal rights or EQUAL FIGHTS. So I imagine that being ultimately the same but much cuter.
Like IMAGINE-
Breakdown seeing Megatron talking to the other Decepticons, is immediately star stricken by seeing someone he GREATLY admires, it’s THE Megatron!
Soundwave: Hey! Come say hi!
Soundwave takes Breakdown over and Breakdown starts panicking as all the cool Decepticons and Megatron look over to him and Soundwave.
Soundwave: Megatron! Meet the bot that saved my life!
Breakdown is at this point feeling like his spark is gonna flicker out from how overheated he feels as all the Decepticons optics and even Megatron’s look at him, their not looking down at him thank Primus or he would totally melt. He looks down to save himself from totally overheating-
Then, Breakdown see a hand reach over for a handshake. He looks up to see Megatron smiling at him, gratitude in his optics.
Megatron: Thank you, for saving one of my closest friends. I and the other Decepticons are thankful for your bravery.
THANKFUL?! THE MEGATRON THANKED HIM?! He hesitantly takes the hand and shakes it, strong grip so he he makes sure his is strong too and looks him in the optics and tries not to embarrass himself.
Breakdown: Of course! Anything to help the cause! And you!
Megatron: Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated especially someone who was willing to go toe to toe with Bumblebee. Please-
Megatron ends the handshake and the gestures to the Decepticon encampment. Small yet powerful.
Megatron: Stay and rest.
Breakdown: T-Thank you Sir Megatron.
Megatron: Just Megatron, I’m just a bot, nothing more, rest have some energon and we’ll talk later on what to do next.
Breakdown: W-We?
Soundwave: We need all the help we could get!
Starscream: Consider yourself a temporary Decepticon! Right Megatron?
Megatron: If that is what you want.
Breakdown: …YES. I mean, Yes Sir. I would love more than anything to help anyway I can! For Cybertron!
Megatron: Then Welcome Breakdown, to the Decepticon Cause.
INTERNALLY SCREAMING.
BOOM I JUST MADE A MINI FANFIC. LETS GO!
My mini Headcannon fanfic on how that would go and I think it would go something like this because come on, Breakdown was a very nice Decepticon and my guy deserves credit and recognition! Before THE INCIDENT. I ain’t getting into how that went-
BUT YEAH! I think it would be cool if Megatron was amused and moved by Breakdown and took the bot under his wing as Breakdown was just a sweet heart to anyone around him! (Especially to a certain red eyed sport car, watch the paint wink)
Shattered Glass Stunticons?
They were made the same way they were in G1, but because Megatron needed troops because the Autobots kept deactivating his soldiers without remorse. When they were made, Megatron asked Vector Sigma to make them fiercely loyal to the Decepticons, and each other, and to defend the Decepticons from the Autobots with every bit of them they can. Motormaster is quiet, where his G1 counterpart is loud. He puts too much responsibility on his shoulder plates, for he believes he has to not only be the leader for the Stunticons, but that his unit must be what Megatron made them to be — the solution to the loss of life for the Decepticons, by fighting every battle and not stopping, no matter what. He has a temper, deep down, which comes out under great duress, but he never hits his team. He could never hurt his brothers, but he will punish himself with any loss the Stunticons endure, to a point where he makes himself a near perfectionist in the case of winning battles.
Wildrider still has delusions, but he has support from his family and brothers at all times to help him through it. He's always the first into fights, because he comes in without restraint and does everything to distract the enemy Autobots. Wilds loves reading and spends down time learning about Earth and Cybertron. Drag Strip will do everything to make sure his team wins, not himself. He's the one who will race to support or help one of his brothers out first, even if he could have defeated an Autobot himself. He overextends himself to assist in the Stunticons' goal of defeating the Autobots, to the point of damage to his engine and core that has him often in the medical bay. Breakdown's brave. His paranoia is often cloaked by the confidence he exhibits, but his brothers know of his fears and night terrors. They love him and support him, and his confidence is often a bolster to the team when they fight. Dead End is more of an optimist than a pessimist, though his depression can stop him. Unlike with his G1 counterpart, he has support from all of his brothers. There are cuddle piles *constantly* whenever one of them is feeling down. Motormaster is the one the Stunticons come to whenever they have bad nightmares, for he will comfort them with hugs and his deep, diesel engine rumbling away.
Menasor is an absolutely dangerous combiner. He's as strong, agile and fast as the Menasor in Transformers: Devastation, for his components all get along and his mind is not fractured or split between bad situations or relationships within the brothers. Whenever Menasor is brought onto the field, it is because the Decepticons have no other choice, for Menasor causes so much destruction, sometimes Decepticons get hurt (not that Menasor ever means too, and he always feels guilty afterwards if he does hurt any Decepticon). The Stunticons are afraid of being caught by the Autobots, though, for they know of the sadistic ways of their enemy. Should capture be eminent, though... Motormaster would do everything in his power to get his brothers to escape. His family must survive.
Dang i wasn't expecting something so detailed! This is all pretty great thanks for sharing! I'll tag this for the stunticons and all the characters so others can see it too!
“Ugh...where are we?” Knockout stood up slowly. The ground bridge they were attempting to travel through had malfunctioned, throwing them around violently.
“I’m not sure.” Breakdown looked around with his one good eye. “Seems we’re somewhere entirely new. My Planetary Positioning System is completely dead, and I can’t contact the Nemesis.”
“Same here.” Knockout sighed. “We’re fragged.”
“Well, if we’re here, we may as well explore for the time being.” Breakdown shrugged. “We don’t have anything better to do after all.”
“Guess you’re right. What have we got to lose? Other than our lives, I mean.” Knockout muttered.
“Come on dear, don’t be like that.” Breakdown gently clasped his conjunx’s servo. “At least we’re away from the war for now. And I know it’s a bit of a cliche, but we have each other.”
“That’s true.” Knockout smiled.
Nemesis Crew
Throughout my writing process I've been referring to the original Decepticons I introduced as the 'Nemesis Crew'. It just kinda stuck, I guess. I kinda think about it like how the main Autobots in Transformers Prime are called 'Team Prime'. I'll admit that I've taken some inspiration from Prime, but I'm also trying to find my own footing too. Anyway, back to the main focus, which was listing the Nemesis Crew. Quick note is that this mentions original and basic characterization and that there are more complex arcs and personalities. Anyway, here we go:
Megatron, Leader of the Decepticons and commander of the Nemesis. White body, gray limbs, blue wings attached to back, cannons attached to shoulder, Cybertronian combat jet alt mode. Megatron is a wise, stoic, and experienced leader, but is also aloof and somber, though not uncaring. Though seeming intimidating, he can be compassionate and poetic.
Starscream, Decepticon Second in Command. White, black, and red Seeker frame, swords attached to wings. Starscream is intelligent and a strong fighter, but he struggles with a lack of self confidence and an anxiety disorder, though don't mistake these issues for weakness, for he will still fight to the death for the Decepticon Cause and fellow Decepticons.
Soundwave, Communications Officer. Dark blue and white, yellow visor, face half covered by battle mask. Soundwave is laid back, a little unorganized, a music fanatic (Cybertronian and Earth), but also an excellent communications officer. He also has an arsenal of minicons, made up of Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, and Ratbat. Despite his laid back attitude, Soundwave is well aware of the tragedy of war, but seems to try to forget whenever possible.
Shockwave, engineer. Red and black, tall thin body, one blue eye instead of a face. (I would like to clarify that Shockwave is modeled after TFA Shockwave, but is red and black, the previous Decepticons are modeled after their Shattered Glass versions). Shockwave was forced to undergo empurata, when the Autobots decided he would be useful to them. The Decepticons later found him and rescued him, but he was still damaged physically and emotionally, hence why he doesn't fight. Despite this, he works hard to be useful to the Decepticons and create inventions to further their efforts against the Autobots.
Knockout, Chief Medical Officer. Aquamarine, car alt mode, on the smaller side, very scratched up and dented. Knockout is a medic with limited fighting skills, but has an electric staff (for awhile I jokingly referred to it as a 'Cybertronian cattle prod') to defend himself. He can be kind, awkward, but also serious when it comes to his job. While he doesn't seem to care for his appearance or self care, he does an excellent job of caring for his patients and conjunx.
Breakdown, nurse. Blue and gray, orange face. (Confession: I like his appearance so I kept it the same). Breakdown was once a great warrior, but due to an event he dislikes to talk about, he now suffers from PTSD and has since decided to dedicate his life to helping injured Decepticons, along with his conjunx, Knockout. He can be soft spoken, solemn, easy to miss despite his size, but also has great bedside (berthside?) manner.
Thunderblast, soldier. Purple and yellow, strange wing-like attachments, feminine body, speed boat alt mode. (I don't know how many people know about her, she's a female Decepticon from the Cybertron cartoon, the final entry in the Unicron Trilogy. She essentially looks the same as normal, but with blue eyes and the yellow and purple of her design switched). Thunderblast is a Decepticon soldier, with a passion for history and recording it. She can be somewhat rude, flaunting her intellect, and is not particularly well liked. Though her tendency to rely on no one but herself and her unwillingness to open up stems from her past.
Skywarp and Thundercracker, seekers. Thundercracker is a dark blue and white seeker frame, while Skywarp is purple and white. (I forgot they had Shattered Glass versions when I started, so I ended up creating my own versions. I'll admit I did not stick to the actual Shattered Glass stories at all). Despite being veterans of the war, they're not above being somewhat immature. They tend to joke a lot and tend recieve discipline for their actions. However, they are inseparable, and very loyal to Starscream, as the three are in a trine.
Some rough wip arts of Knockout and Breakdown's sparkling, Windcrash----
