come to find out, the dorms can be quite active during the night, students busking around due to a missed project with an approaching deadline, or those who simply couldn’t rest their eyes. hyunjae belonged to the latter category, too used to walking around in an attempt to exhaust himself or something along those lines. it never works, but he gets to meet interesting individuals at this time, so he supposes he couldn’t complain too much.
it almost became routine whenever he would run into miyoung, with the other heading back towards her room holding a bag of food. they’d make small talk sometimes, not too much that he’d hinder her late night consumptions, but enough for hyunjae to think that conversations like those weren’t bad to have once in a while.
tonight seemed to be a little different. for one, hyunjae nearly got himself locked in the kitchen when he stayed too long cooking—he wasn’t even entirely sure why he decided to do so at that time, seeing as there was no one who would taste his food this late into the night. regardless, he managed to get himself out with a filled lunchbox in hand, and no one to taste test, until he spotted miyoung in the corner of his eye.
the other looked bothered tonight, tired eyes hinting at many thoughts. hyunjae, not the best at expressing concern as per usual, merely said, “convenience store food isn’t always healthy.” gaining her attention, he continued, “i have lasagna, if you want to try.” he showed her the lunchbox.
