Thinkin about Jedi customs again and I've seen some fics meantion how padawans/newly knghted Jedi can request a chance to visit their home planet to learn more about their culture. I don't know if this is canon, but I love the idea!
But because they have that oportunity, i think they'd also have a day where youngings, just before the age they can become padawans, are devided among Jedi of the same home planet/cuture to let them shadow/ask qestions?
Cause im sure not every Jedi takes the opportunty to go to their home planet, so what if younglins get this like, day, where typically (when the jedi arent at war) Jedi from all over converge at the temple and get anywhere from 1-10 younglings and they just chat and ask questions and learn from this older jedi that ls like them! Its supposed to give them some base info, and their curiosity mostly satiated before heir padawanship, and to help guide them on if going to ther planet is the right choice for them.
But with the war going on, it becomes a shadow day. Where suddenly all these clone batallions are seing ther Generals walk down the Venator halls with a gaggle of younglings behind them, all having similar characteristics/features.
And maybe the clones learn a litte more about their Generals and Jedi Culture as a whole too.
Imagine Obi Wan with 2 littlesmalltiny younglings trailing behind the man like ducklings. Stewjohn is not the most accepting of those with gifts in the force, so he has the only other younglings from his planet.
He has little Cal, who if rumors are to believed, has been chosen by Master Tapal to be his padawan when the boy is ready in a few months. And little Ari-Sol, who has a gift for healing. Both have bright metallic hair, Cals who is a more vibrant copper than Obi, and Ari-Sol who has shining gold hair. (I love the stewjohn weird biology giving them metal hair)
Plo, who has a handfull of small Kel Dor children and his niece, Sha, has another handfull. Wolffe is desperately pretending he is not losing his shit at these smaller versions of his General. He is failing.
Ahsoka got to spend her day when she was younger with Shaak-Ti, she became a huge rolemodel to her and is what helped convinced her to participate in the Togrutan coming of age hunting ceromony.
What if Aayla gets a couple other twi'lek younglings that were rescued from slavery. And they get to talk about overcoming that trauma and reconnecting with their culture and people, and how deeply both are tied to slavery.
What if Anakin, who isnt expecting any younglings of his own because his culture was tatooine slavery. What other youngling or jedi could possibly be from that desert hellscape? But then he gets this little girl, who was found just a couple years after Anakin, because the council realized, if they missed Anakin, whos midchlorian count is astronomical, then who else did they miss on that slaver planet. They found 1 other force sensitive girl bound to slavery by Jaba the Hutt.
Anakin now gets to pass down all those stories his mom and older slave kids passed down to him. Of slave routes and networks to freedom, of rebellions and trixter gods and rain and and-
Its been a long while since he was able to look back on his past with anthing close to fondness. But sharing these stories of hope and resiliance and resistance, it makes him happy. Connected. This one tiny youngling from Tatoonine helped Anakin feel more part of the the Jedi Order than any Master ever could. He feels less other. It also greatly helps his own feelings about tattoine and how he grew up.
Just. Jedi being a melting pot of cultures.
