Fact swap time :D Nate is close with his family and often helps his dad and grandfather tend to the commercial garden. His mother, Mama Rita, owns a plant nursery on the outskirts of the city.

Okay, this is weird, but one of the OCs in my new WIP is also named Nate! It’s really cool that he helps tend to a garden. I love gardens and AHH I WANNA GO TO A PLANT NURSERY.

Jeb, from my new Vampire Husbands WIP, is the oldest of seven siblings. He’s got a scar about an inch and a half long on his cheek and is missing a chunk of his nose due to an unfortunate accident on the ranch.

YEAH I AGREE. Boats and sea creatures mostly because of my wip, but the colour teal!! Is just my favourite!! And whenever I remake my blog theme or whatnot I CAN NOT ESCAPE IT AHHH

AND FASHION! I guess I just really love how people can change how they’re perceived by just their clothes alone? AND THEY CAN BE SO PRETTY AHHH

Happy Storyteller Saturday! If you could bring one thing from your WIP into the real world, what would it be? Would you bring magic to the world, or is there a particular brand of potato chips you wish existed?

Does “the ability to shapeshift” count? Cause otherwise I think I’d love a gargoyle of my own :D

Thoughts of a Schizotypal Composer

I know my creativity is impacted by my schizotypy, but it’s never the source of my inspiration. What’s more, it’s never something I can find a place for in my music. I have tried emulating my experiences with psychosis in my music, particularly the episodes I experience. It didn’t amount to much.

The impact that my schizotypy has on my creativity is not because it is a source of inspiration, but because my whole perception of the world is different than the average person, and that directly affects how I write music. This paragraph draws from a post by @shadescrawls about their perception of the world affects their writing.

What I haven’t identified just yet is how that perception makes my music different. Oftentimes what I compose makes sense to most individuals, whereas a lot of the explanations my mind comes up with for ordinary things are far from ordinary.

I’ve lived with my schizotypal for ten years, but was only diagnosed ten weeks ago. This is all very new to me. I’m much more self aware than I was before, but I have a lot of questions that will take time to answer.

How the schizo spectrum affects my creativity is one of those questions.

Lorelai: Fall, because she loves Halloween and the colour of the leaves and the chilly weather. AND one of the few childhood memories she still has / remembers that is happy is playing with her parents in the piles of leaves after they were raked.

Adrian: spring. He loves how everything blossoms on land and how the sun shines and everything comes to life.

Morgan: winter! As a seal she enjoys cooler water and having ice to climb up onto. She also enjoys seeing the shadows of the fish swimming underneath the ice from above. As a human she enjoys snowball fights and tobogganing— and a warm drink inside as she watches the snow fall.

Miles: spring. He loves the warmth, the blooming, the green grass after seeing snow for so long, baby animals, chocolate, getting outside, hiking. But during summer he overheats!

11. For the ask game, for Ben? I tried going through your OCs first, hopefully I got that right. :)

Yes, you did! I do have a Ben, he’s the one that Simon calls Benzo because Simon is bad at nicknames and accidentally called him by a drug name.

11. What is something that would make your character fly into a rage?

Ben is not the fly-into-a-rage-type of guy. He’s more of the suffer-in-silence type, the kind that sighs and swallows up all his anger because he’s stoic, and it’s not worth it.

I do think that he would get really pissed if someone talks badly about or judges Simon, his boyfriend (probably in an ignorant, homophobic manner most of all), but even then it wouldn’t be flying into a rage, it would be more tightly controlled rage, with shaking voices and fists but still talking very calmly with an edge type of thing.
