BIGGGG SPOILERS FOR ACT 3 BELOW THE CUT:
I’M ACTUALLY PRETTY OKAY WITH THIS ENDING
bc,, guys, like, listen,,,,,,, consider this: Talion continuing his resistance of Sauron well past after he Fell, retaining more awareness and free will than the other Nazgul through sheer strength of will alone.
The rebellious, common-blooded new ringwraith infuriating the others and frustrating Sauron’s plans however he can, somewhat safe in the knowledge that they can’t get rid of him because they need him.
Talion the weirdly talkative and sociable Nazgul, the orc troops eyeing him nervously and muttering questions among themselves when they think he can’t hear them, except he does, and sometimes he answers them, before turning on his heel and vanishing in a swish of a black, tattered cloak. Talion, who refuses to wear his mask whenever he is able to, who joins the hunt for the new ringbearer in much the same way he hunted for Hirgon decades ago, who tears apart the bedding in the Prancing Pony and laughs with silent glee when only feathers and stuffing mock them. Talion at the ford, urging his horse further into the river, silently goading the others deeper into the trap he knows will spring.
