Theory #36: Peter Pan's Shadow (with answers enabled)

A thought came to me as I watched the episode...

Pandora's Box contains the darkest magic known. Pan's Shadow resides in the Dark Hollow. We know another curse hits Storybrooke when they return...

What if Pan's Shadow is not in fact just his shadow? What if it's actually the manifestation of the darkness of Neverland which merged with Pan's shadow to create a physical form?

Now, what if the Neverland darkness is actually half of an even darker entity while the other half was trapped in Pandora's Box?

And what if the darkness in Pandora's Box somehow ends up merging with Pan's shadow and Neverland's magic, returning it to its true form, giving it a voice (i.e. Marilyn Manson) and brings this new curse to Storybrooke as revenge for his entrapment in Neverland?

Hello! I've been checking out your other analysis' (loved your Rose one by the way) and I've been wondering about Greg and Tamara and their connection to shadow pan. Do you have any thoughts on this? And do you think that maybe shadow pan might be connected to something bigger? Because I've been thinking that if they connect him to a, I guess you can say, organization it could span out to be the protagonists for the rest of the season and possibly onward.

Hmmm I haven’t really thought that much on it. I definitely think that it’s connected to a larger organization, as you’ve mentioned. I think that maybe it might have to do with Wendy or one of the Darlings? It would make some sense, considering the way Bae talked about how evil magic was and what they witnessed, especially Wendy. And I agree that this “home office" or whatever it was they called it will be the antagonist (I think that’s what you meant when you said protagonist lol) for future seasons. It seems like that’s the way it’s being set up. 

I also get the feeling from the way that Tamara and Greg were talking when they were in the mines with Hook that their organization is kind of knight-like. You know, like the medieval times where those knights would fight against unholy things. I’m not 100% set on this theory lol it’s just the feeling I got. 

Shadow Pan intrigues me so much. I can’t wait for next season just so I can see what they’re doing with Peter Pan and what’s going on with his shadow! If you’ve been reading some of my other OUAT stuff, then you’ll see that I’m a huge Peter Pan fan and love J.M. Barrie’s piece of work. I’m really anxious to see how everything will play out. 

I can’t wait to see Neverland too! I hope there’s mermaids and pixies - and I hope that they’re kind of mean lol not particularly villain-like, but true to the classic lore and literature. 

And I also hope that Greg and Tamara don’t last very long lol nothing against the actors or anything, I just dislike their characters. They’re mean!

So a pic of Shadow!Pan just showed up on my newsfeed. Then I came here and Henry was on my dash. And I realized something.

They have the same eye shape and a similar face shape.

Y'all. What if Shadow!Pan is actually Henry's shadow or something. I mean, we've already seen that he wants Henry for something, but don't know why.

That said, the whole timeline bit really throws a wrench into that theory. But I mean, it's not like the writers couldn't come up with some BS excuse for it. Hell, give me a bit longer to wake up and I could.
