au where after already running and being helpess and realizing this is JUST THE START Sabre decides to go to Nightmare Steve and pledge allegiance to him. "I'll do anything, be anything you want, your ally, friend, servant, just please keep us safe" He gets Lucas on board pretty quick, but Rainbow is much harder to convince, in the end Rainbow goes along, he totally doesn't trust Nightmare Steve, because he's a villain, but Sabre thinks it's a good idea so he'll try it. Sabre becomes bff's with Nightmare Steve and both kind of balance eachother out. Any Steve Sabre rescues becomes a loyal subject of Nightmare Steve, but Sabre has influenced him to not be absolutely terrible. Shadow Steve, Dark Steve and Shadow Sabre are all present during this and are just sat in total confusion as Nightmare Steve has tea with some chicken guy they were trying to murder a day ago.

Hehehe...oughhh I've finally found a way to integrate an old TWA plot point into the newest edition of the AU >:]

Okay it doesn't actually involve character death but kinda does-

So.

TWA!Sabre, the main Trapped version, is fused with TSS!Galaxy from the beginning, yes? Well. They first start off in TSS!Rainbow's first house. Aka where Shadow Sabre first came to be, and when Sabre accidentally drank Dark Steve's powers.

...yeah. So, from the beginning, Sabre finds Dark's concentrated powers. ...he doesn't drink em this time tho. Rather, a certain sneaky Steve steals the bottle :]

TSS!Shadow Steve takes Dark's powers and eventually reveals himself...much later on in the story. And then he runs straight through Sabre again, smashing the bottle on him (for added ✨️chaos✨️).

Sabre is immediately face-to-face with his mortality in a way he hasn't felt before. Last time, he could just switch accounts, smack his infected account around a bit, and be good to go. But what will happen if he dies now? It's the only way to get rid of the Shadow virus.

And as for Dark's powers, I headcanon that it leaves a powerful aura that makes an illusion that Sabre is Dark Steve, and that effects EVERY Steve. Meaning only the few non-Steves (Ivy and Francis from Trapped, for instance) can see the real Sabre. Galaxy isn't affected since he's still merged with him. The non-Steves still feel a very powerful, unnerving aura around him tho.

Shadow's infection starts in his heart, and once it reaches his arms...much like the og, it rapidly takes over. Perhaps it's implied that means he controls the "headset..." >:]

Anywho. Dark's powers feel and look like lava flowing in his veins. Incredibly uncomfortable, and looks even worse as his body slowly blackens into Dark Steve.

At the time, they haven't found TSS!Light, and he was the only one to successfully remove Dark's powers...so that's who they set off to find, as Sabre (and Galaxy...) fight off the invading Steve energies threatening to consume Sabre.

Because Shadow will eventually control Sabre, Galaxy has a backup plan to physically fight Shadow from within his mind. Because Galaxy was mentally stronger than Void... >:]

Headcanon Time! :D

First a little thing out of the way: In my little silly head timelines and character arcs don't happen as they do in the canon Steve Saga in general, because I continously live in blissful ignorance. (Of character deaths especially-) SO! If certain things and character relationships don't make sense to you, that's why. But it's okay, bc it's just headcanons. ;3

Aaaaanyway, starting with number 1): Nightmare, Dark and Shadow are the ultimate, evil, found-family trio and I love them-

2) Nightmare created Dark in a machine, we know that. I like to think, that in order to bring the Dark Stone to life he had to give a little of his own life force/ essence. Just the little "spark of life" y'know?

3) Because of that, I like to imagine that Dark has miniscule amounts of Yellow Powers, like abnormal speed or reflexes. And one yellow eye, that he hides with his bangs like the emo he is, lmao.

4) Shadow may not be able to fly like other Steves, BUT! He can travel through shadows, similar to teleportation. He melts with the shadows around him and it can take him to some sort of shadow dimension, that only he can access. From there all shadows in the real world are like little windows for him to look and travel through.

5) Building upon the previous headcanon, when Dark and Shadow are sent out to a mission and they have to travel there fast, Dark will usually fly. He will make sure to always cast a shadow on the way, so Shadow can keep up with him by basically surfing on his shadow, lol. (Geez, I just said 'shadow' a lot-)

6) The chromatic Steves utilize the different colors of light for their powers. But was das Dark Steve do? Darkness doesn't involve light, does it? No. He has to be more creative. So here's the thing: Powers are essentially utilized energy. And energy typically travels in waves, right? Light also travels in waves and the different colors come in different wavelengths. You know what else travels in waves? Sound. That's right! Dark enhances his powers through sound!

7) Is it necessary to say that he's a bit of a music nerd because of this? (Classic emo music of course-)

8) And one for Pos and Neg! Their powers are quite similar to one another, actually. But when their powers show the strongest or when side effects hit, is when the differences truly shine. Pos has to be fully rested in order to access his powers the best. But Neg only truly gets going when he's exhausted and desperate.

Look at this dude... Suspicious... He is definitely scheming something! He has a knife and isn't afraid to use it! 😀🔪

Shadow is here and wants to hurt people! In the OG he was just a watered down version Dark Steve, though behaved much worse than him, but in this rewrite I have given him just a little more thought and is not watered down anymore, I hope. He was just more obedient than Dark. Shadow was like a assistant working under Nightmare Steve and Dark Steve. He wasn't as strong as Dark was but he definitely listened to Nightmare better. He enjoyed his tasks. Unlike Dark who just followed orders. Shadow in my fan rewrite is like an assassin or a ninja. It seemed like the best profession for him since he is very skilled in stealth. His personality wasn't much to figure out, he was one of the easiest ones to redo.

His design took some thought, I had his hair look similar to Dark Steve's hair, just made it longer and gave him some bangs. His cape thing is shorter so it's more like a shawl or something. I gave him a mask but his emotions are revealed through his eyes and eyebrows. Right now he is expecting a fun encounter, probably fighting Sabre. It's a bit hard to tell since the quality of my photos can't get better than this, but he has little wisps of darkness emanating from him. His colors were easy. It's just black and dark gray! As for his shadow dagger, you can see some red in it. It is a little thing I created and plays a big part in one of the future arcs I have planned. 😈 But I think I've been keeping enough secrets about my rewrite so I'll tell you about it!

This is a new thing I made and like to call, ✨redstone infused items!✨ BEHOLD! Now usually redstone is infused with netherite. But Shadow here infused it in his shadow dagger. Or rather, daggers. He has many weapons so stay on guard! Redstone infused netherite was originally made to keep... Certain prisoners from using their abilities. Now, redstone by itself is useful for creating a trap that can affect Steves (and Alexs, but that's a different thing to explain later). EXCEPT FOR RED ONES! Redstone doesn't affect the Red ones as much as the others. This is because they love to EAT IT and have gotten immune over the generations. But if you infuse netherite with redstone, the netherite boosts the affects of the redstone making it stronger, therefore, can affect the Red Steves. In the OG series you can see that when Sabre encounters Shadow for the first time he used a redstone trap. It was weak, but one reason why most redstone machines don't work on Shadow is because he isn't just a piece of Dark Steve, he has a bit of Nightmare mixed in his creation, the Red Steve part, hence why most redstone won't work on him. Now it is only a piece, so it can work, you just need a lot more redstone or redstone infused netherite. Now I'm not explaining Reds here, this is about Shadow. I'm done with the redstone infused thing, back to Shady!

His hand was not easy but drawing them holding something is better than any other hand pose. It looks pretty good. As for the rest of his pose, I needed something that felt almost predatory but also playful. In a bad way. Buddy likes to play but not nicely. He's like a cat with a mouse, he doesn't kill immediately, he usually plays with it, in this case people, first before finishing the job. When it came to Sabre he was at first having fun but Sabre showed him he could fight back. So, Shadow had to get serious and end the fun early as he posed a good threat. Out of all the adversaries Sabre has met, he could fight back against Shadow on his own without someone else's help. Shadow was a great fighter, but he was also foolish and fell for Sabre's traps. Sabre did get help defeating Shadow but he probably would've found a way by himself eventually. Shadow isn't exactly weak but his sneaking around did end a lot of people.

Though Shadow was a sneaky murderer, I doubt he could ever top this next sickening character. See you tomorrow with another design! 😷

Abilities: can fly, hide in shadows, turn invisible, resistant to redstone, summon and control coal, and can infect a target slowly making them his puppet... A Shadow Puppet if you will, BA DUN TS! 🥁 Alriiiiight, I'll see myself out... 🤸‍♀️🚪

Personality: obedient, sneaky, sadistic, clever, nasty in a violent way, and twisted.
