Plot Update: Vampires Divided

Hiding in the shadow was not Camille Belcourt’s style and she was never going to stay away forever. No one was happy to see her resurface, well except those that were still loyal to her as it turned out.

With Camille’s return, it was revealed that some of the vampires in the New York Clan were still on her side, or have reconsidered their earlier decision. Now that there was no proof against her since Simon Lewis signed the Writ of Transmutation, the vampires that had their doubts migrated to her side.

Camille wanted control back, power, but she expected a larger number of vampires to join her. In the end, the number of vampires on Camille’s side was just a couple of heads smaller than the number loyal to their new leader, Raphael Santiago. When an agreement to divide came up Raphael did not expect her to agree and had a bad feeling from the beginning, but it meant a fight could be avoided. For now.

So it happened that the largest vampire clan in New York that occupied all of Brooklyn was divided with a contract. Raphael Santiago would keep the DuMort and north side of Brooklyn starting from the middle of Central Park, while Camille Belcourt took the south side taking up another location as the clan’s headquarters, the Plaza Hotel. 

The question is: what is she going to do now?

Plot Update: Jace’s Escape

When Jace Wayland discovered that the person he’s been torturing for days and days was his own sister he didn’t hesitate and tried to help her get out of there. What he didn’t know was that it was Valentine’s plan for him to see that it was who he called family for years that he’s been hurting while implementing his own plan yet to unfold.

But Valentine’s plan didn’t go exactly as planned. He wanted to break Jace, to finally test his loyalties and bring the darkness in him to the surface so that he would become a tool for his cause.

One week he was held in isolation in a cell with barely enough to survive and when he wasn’t broken even then, the torture started. Day after day Valentine’s minions would drag him out of his cell to try and break him. For another week Jace has been put through immense physical and mental strain as his body was barely strong enough to keep him conscious.

It was by a miracle that helped him escape. The day a spell fell over New York, that left everyone feeling calm with no malicious intent towards anyone, Valentine’s henchmen were just about to escort Jace out of his prison for another beating when he tried to escape. In the end, he just walked away as the spell started to have an effect on them all.

Thanks to those hours of calm Jace managed to gather enough strength to escape later when the spell ended. His initial plan to take one of the boats was abandoned when he was cornered by the other Circle members and had to jump ship.

Luckily Jace was found by Dutch before dawn, lying unconsciously at the water edge near the docks. Fishing him out she offered him shelter and help in exchange for information. 

Now Jace Wayland is hunted by both the Circle and the Clave, so what will he do next?

◤◦  EVENT   ;  ;  ;   6M ANNIVERSARY: MAY THERE BE JOY

Saturday, November 19th, started just as any other day did. That is until 9am when strange things started to happen. Not that anyone would notice that they’re behaving strange, not until the next day.

A powerful spell has been cast over the Tri-State Area, like a dome, reaching as far as out on the sea. Everyone currently being in the region or entering will be under the influence of the spell.

The spell affects people of any species equally making them behave amicable and as if any preexistent threats became insignificant. They don’t lose who they were, their personality, but there is no more animosity. Some might even find it weird that they haven’t always been like this.

If someone were to leave the affected area, the spell’s effects would stop working on them. Mundanes would think it’s probably because of something they ate, not really giving it much thought. If someone from the Shadow World were to leave and realize that something is wrong, going back would only put them under the spell again and think that why would they find what is happening strange at all?

The spell doesn’t pass into Fairyland through the portals under the affected region, but if someone from the Fair Folk were to pass through they would be affected just like everyone else. For the best, or maybe the worst, Valentine is on one of his missions during the duration of the spell as his ship also falls under the effects of it.

It wasn’t Sunday, November 20th, at 12am when the spell ends all of a sudden and everyone awakens from the daze they were under for the last 15 hours. What will happen during those hours and how will it influence their futures?

Duration (real life time): Weekend of December 2nd-4th In-Roleplay Event Time: 15hours, starting Saturday 19th at 9am until Sunday 20th at 12am Tags: shadow:6m (make sure you tag ALL your posts with this tag) Once the event is over all unfinished event related threads will be stopped but they can be continued off-dash and posted later with the tag. You can continue your normal threads during the duration of the event but make sure to tag everything event related accordingly.

NOTE: Everything that happens during the event will be part of the story. The interactions don’t happen in an alternative universe/timeline.

Isabelle Lightwood has returned to the Institute!

During the chaos of the Downworlders Ball aftermatch Valentine used this as a distraction to get his hands on Isabelle Lightwood and to put into motion another part of his plan.

Valentine Morgenstern held her prisoner and tortured her until she was both physically and mentally weakened. But he did not do it but used his own son to inflict the pain.

Jace did not know who it was that he was hurting day in day out until the final days, and once he knew, Valentine’s target was achieved and he sent the girl back to the Institute.

Now it has been a week since Isabelle has returned to the Institute. After resting and healing, she is finally feeling up to leaving her room and facing the world again.

Some of the Clave’s Shadowhunters are suspicious about why Valentine let her go, rumors are starting to spread about how she was turned just like her parents once were. The Lightwood parents are trying to deal with this new blow to their family reputation with Shadowhunters being suspicious on where Isabelle’s loyalties lie.

Temporary characters available: Maryse Lightwood and Robert Lightwood.

Temporary characters are character’s available to be played for a short time for plot purposes.

Due to confusions about how far along we are in the rp regarding the date, we did some calculations we finally found an approx date. We are at approx 10-11 weeks since the rp started and I know this doesnt sound as much but this is a fast paced environment so it’s normal for a lot of stuff to happen in a short period of time. The current in-roleplay date will be displayed on the main in the description and it will be in weekly formats, updated for a new week once events feel like they have progressed enough. It has been approx 2 weeks since the Downworlders Ball and one week since Isabelle has returned to the Institute.

◤◦  PLOT DROP    ;  ;  ;   ISABELLE LIGHTWOOD IS MISSING

After the dumping of Henrik Herondale’s body on the front steps of the Institute and the arrival of the Inquisitor, everything has been even more chaotic as she divided the Shadowhunters to looks for her son’s killer and granddaughter’s kidnapper while the rest still worked on the Valentine issue.

Isabelle Lightwood while on her way out to meet with her lover, Meliorn of the Seelies, without leaving a note about her whereabouts was taken by Valentine’s men. She was brought to the ship where she was bound and gagged, her clothing changed to be more nondescript.

Neither Isabelle nor Jace, her adoptive brother, knew what Valentine’s plan was. Jace only knowing he was supposed to torture someone who was covered up while Isabelle knew exactly who it was that inflicted her pain each day over and over again.

After Valentine would send Jace out for the day he would tear down whatever was left of Isabelle’s mental defenses before repeating the process gain the next day.

Will Isabelle Lightwood come out stronger after all this? Or will Valentine break her?

◤◦  PLOT DROP    ;  ;  ;   THE INQUISITOR RETURNS

The lifeless and mauled body of Henrik Herondale was found lying in front of the Institue after the alarm for a Downworlder on the perimeter was activated. Once realizing exactly who it was and with what looked like Vampire marks on the body, Henrik’s mother was informed, Inquisitor Imogen Herondale, who requested to be present in New York for the capture of the killer.

Retracing Henrik’s steps led to a hotel where the deceased's daughter, Brooke Herondale, appeared to have been living. Taking in the scene and the way the body was left in front of the Institue, Imogen Herondale took this as an attack against the Clave fearing that whoever killed her son was keeping her granddaughter prisoner or worse, that they killed her as well.

This only enraged the Inquisitor and brought her on a warpath to find whoever was responsible for the death of her family by keeping a tighter leash on the Downworlders, but especially on the Vampires. She ordered more and more raids on known Downworlder locations working the Law to its maximum without breaking it.

Following the recent attack at the Downworlders Ball, this only makes the Downworlders more bitter towards the Shadowhunters, not caring what side they are on. Will the Downworlders unite and fight together against their common enemy without any association with the Clave or will Imogen’s warpath stop once she realizes that it was her own granddaughter, now a vampire, who killed her son? Or will her wrath become only stronger?

◤◦  PLOT DROP    ;  ;  ;   CITY OF BONES AMBUSH

With rumors of Valentine planning something big, and the attack on the ball the Shadowhunters thought that this was his big plan. What they didn’t know was that it was all a distraction. A plan to get all the reinforcements from the Institue to the ball while at the same time a second attack took place.

Shadowhunters from the Institute hurried to the ball after Lydia Branwell contacted them about the attack, after receiving a worrying message from Jace Wayland, to try and keep the people inside safe. At the same time, the reinforcements got to the ball’s location Valentine with his best-trained Shadowhunters attacked the City of Bones decimating the Silent brothers and stealing the Mortal Sword.

The attack at the ball finished as fast as it began once Valentine contacted them to retreat leaving Downworlders as well as Shadowhunters to mourn their losses and try to wrap their head around why they didn’t finish them all.

The Shadowhunters soon after would find out what the attack truly was: a distraction.

◤◦  PLOT DROP    ;  ;  ;   DOWNWORLDERS BALL AMBUSH

With rumors about Valentine having something big planned the Downworlders Ball seemed the likely target and as a precaution, the Shadowhunters stationed patrols just outside the location. It was a possibility yet faced with the true force of an attack left the attendees and Shadowhunters fighting or scrambling to get out of the warded premises and to safety.

Valentine sent demons to destroy the wards that protected the people from fights breaking out before his Shadowhunters could enter and fight. At midnight, just a few hours after the ball began, his attack started as the Shadowhunters killed the Seelie guards protecting the entrance once the wards were down.

Having anti-portals wards up it meant that to leave one had to leave the grounds first which would be a difficult task as Valentine’s Shadowhunters were spread from the entrance to the ballroom fighting anyone who was in their way. Demons were scattered outside in case anyone tried to leave through the back.

As soon as the attack began the patrolling Shadowhunters informed the Institute about their situation asking for backup which didn’t take long to come as they engaged into the battle.

Not long after the reinforcements appeared Valentine’s men and the demon force outside retreated leaving behind chaos, wounded and death.

This is part of the Downworlder Ball Event and all threads occurring during the attack will also have the shadow:dball tag, ALL event related threads will use this tag to differentiate from non-event related threads. Threads started before the attack can be continued until the end of the event as well as new threads that happen during the battle. It’s time to decide if your character stood and fought, tried to escape or found themselves a hiding spot.
