With its debut less than a month away now, BET has released its first photos from the Boomerang television series, inspired by the classic 90s film of the same name.
Executive-produced by the film's star, Halle Berry and The Chi creator Lena Waithe, the reboot will star Tequan Richmond, Tetona Jackson, Leland Martin and Lala Milan. Recurring cast members are RJ Walker, Paula Newsome, Kimberly Inge, Joey BadA$$, Dreezy and Kimberly Hall. Ben Cory Jones (Insecure, Underground) is the co-creator and showrunner. Initially developed as a reboot of the 1992 film starring Eddie Murphy, Berry and Robin Givens, it is now described as a sequel in the form of a series. The description: The series will follow the lives of Jacqueline Boyer's (Givens) son and Marcus (Murphy) and Angela Graham's (Berry) daughter as they attempt to step out of their parents' shadows and make a legacy of their own.

The first time I can recall seeing Kofi Siriboe’s face was when he starred as the menacing Flaco in Justin Tipping’s debut film, "Kicks.” In a narrative about inner city masculinity and the feelings of isolation and loneliness that often plague us during adolescence, Siriboe's Flaco radiated pain and rage. Amongst an entire cast of fresh-faced newcomers, he had clearly announced himself. Just a few months later, his face would be everywhere.

8 years old, Tre Peart developed an incredible movie idea after reading the book 'The War with Grandpa'.
