Shadowhunters Aestethic
I finished The Infernal Devices. I loved this series more than The Mortal Instruments, but this was not my favorite one in the series.
I think they ended the conflict too early just to pull all the couples together, so I wasn’t a big fan of that.
UM, the Jem of it all was very weird, and I guess the epilogue takes place after the events of Heavenly Fire.
I look forward to finishing The Mortal Instruments honestly just to get it behind me and then move onto The Dark Artifices because so many folks say that is the very best one. I also want to get to Last Hours series too. SO MANY BOOKS OH MY GOD.
Did you know?
A rune could possibly be inscribed to a mundane and have the same effect as those as shadowhunters’s. Aside from being burned deep through the bones or worst instant death.
Fun fact: (From the book “City of Bones” by Cassandra Clare)
Jace used his stele to Clary to inscribe a healing rune when Clary got poisoned by a Ravener. (A vicious demon that looks like a centipede) Jace doesn’t know Clary is a Shadowhunter that time, he’s also aware of the consequences but he just did and his decision was right.
Jumping back in, I hope to finish tonight.
I was not a big fan of this book. It seems to be the favorite of most people who read The Mortal Instruments, but I was just ready to be finished with it.
I think the major reason is because I dislike Sebastian. And I know he is the villain and the person I should dislike, but he isn’t a good villain to me, so I just get annoyed with him even being in the books and hated pretty much all scenes with Clary, Jace, and Sebastian in them. Um, I also was not there for that assault scene. That was so unnecessary. I can’t understand the need for it to be in the book. If it was to show how awful Sebastian was, that wasn’t needed. We already know how awful he is. So yeah, I am glad I am done with it and am so excited to get back to the Infernal Devices with Clockwork Princess.
We’re ready to get back to the world of The Mortal Instruments.
I am 99 pages in and I am almost finished with the vampire section. If I had read this like I planned to before City of Fallen Angels, it would have definitely given away the whole Lilith thing. Or maybe not. I would maybe have wondered where I had heard the name Satrina or Talto before. So, I don’t know if it will reveal anymore details that could be connected or not.
I grabbed that one because I wanted a quick read and everything I looked at said it wouldn’t ruin any of the books or giveaway the plot.
And when I say quick read, I mean something I can pick up and put down with ease when I have my small reading sessions.
Still finding all of the info interesting and I hope it will make all of the future books a little more fun to read.
It is possible, but unlikely I will finish tomorrow. I still have another four hours to go, according to the app.
In this session I found out about Will’s curse. One sister died already, Ella. I don’t know if the statement about his sister being dead was regarding her or to the fact that Cecily is marked for death because of his curse or if she has died already and Mortmain has brought her back. I’m still a little confused about that. Will wants to go into the Demon realm to end his curse. I think he might end up doing that, though not in this book. Apparently the events of the third book inform the events of the last Mortal Instruments book, so I believe he will enter the Demon world and they might do the same in the Mortal Instruments. If not, I am not sure yet what the major connection is.
Jem and Tessa had their moment, and I thought it was beautiful. She cares deeply for both boys and even with knowing what is behind Will’s temperament; I prefer Jem. I think Will understands her better, but Jem offers her friendship on top of love. Who knows how it will turn out. I mean, a lot of you do, but I don’t.
I know one character in another of the Shadowhunter series is a Carstairs so I kind of believe that Tessa and Jem end up together and she can have kids. Or maybe he finds someone else.
Nice to get a glimpse of Ragnor Fell, knowing what happens to him.
I finished with them having had their meeting with the Scott, the leader of London’s pack werewolves. I think he is a delightful character.
And, I am still wondering what Jessamine is up to.
