I WHOLE HEARTEDLY BELIEVE, that shadow would be the chosen hero if Sonic universe and LOZ universe collided. Mostly judging by how close his personality is to Link. Specifically Twilight princess link, BOTW link, and also probably adult link from ocarina of time.  I would also like to note, the only shadow I acknowledge is '06 Shadow, Sonic Heroes Shadow, and Sonic Adventure 2 Shadow. Because those are the best shadows with great character development, and character over all. Not the shitty edge lord they portray him as now. Shadow is 100% a hero who cares about his friends, and I will fight anyone to the death on this.

Okay, consider: Linked Universe and Sundial of Shadows crossover

The LU heroes are startled by dark laughter in the woods. There, beside a tree, is the figment of shadows from their nightmares. They pursue the deep shadow until they burst into a clearing. Stone pillars and three whistling rocks encircle them. Everyone pauses to look around. A flash of darkness. The boys rush over and find, standing atop a stone sundial in the clearing’s epicenter, is another link, skin the color of ash. The ashen boy’s eyes flicker open and he smiles and waves.
