what to expect from SHADOWRUN: HONG KONG
isometric rpg in the Shadowrun world (fantasy but cyberpunk)
you don’t need to play the other Shadowrun games, and this is considered the best one in the series, so you can easily start from here
set in a fantasy futuristic Hong Kong
turn based combat, you use magic, summoning, katanas and guns (and hacking in machines!)
the world has orcs, trolls, elves, dwarves and humans, and you can play as any (male or female, different classes)
quests can be solved in different ways/different choices
vampires
you can add mechanical parts to yourself
creepy lore
don’t... trust the government..??
the map is linear, areas are locked so you can travel only from quest to quest and each quest will probably lead you to a new area. You will have a main area with your base and various shops
recruit companions! They are amazing characters and with a lot of dialogue
you have a home! In your base you will always find your companions and after every mission you can talk with them and they will have new dialogue (great backstories!)
you come back to Hong Kong because your adoptive father disappeared, and you join your brother Duncan (a policeman) to find out what happened
a lot of ways to solve quests based on which companions (and abilities) you bring
plot? you end up doing jobs for some crime lady while trying to find out what happened to your father and why you are now running from the law gameplay? typical isometric rpg, with linear exploration characters? You play alongside your companions and each of them has something to say and interesting personalities sadness level? medium high death?
