Shankar Jaikishan loved to experiment and they boldly did so & with so much belief that they were sure of the positive & successful result of the song , when the film was released . For example , after P N Aurora's " Poonam" , Bhagwandas Varma's " Aurat" and Kishore Sahu's " Mayurpankh", this 1956 Vijay Bhatt film "Patrani" was the fourth film in line , where there was no male singer & Lata Mangeshkar sang in all the songs of these said films. In fact in films Poonam and Aurat, Lataji was the only singer in all the songs . Here in " Patrani" too, no male singer & Lataji sang 9 solo songs out of the eleven songs, though for two songs she was there in a duet with her sister Meenaji & chorus, plus another in a duet with Ushaji & chorus ! Wow ... Patrani is SJs' beautiful bouquet of mellifluous songs sung by Lataji !! 👌 The music in all the songs is alluring & they are valuable irreplaceable gems composed by our SJ . Songs like Chandrama madhbhara, Are koi jao re , Kabhi to aa sapno mein aake , saat samandar paar hain mera plus all the others are grand & majestic ! But today I am mentioning about a hidden gem in it " O balma tum bedardi" what a song !! Observe Vyjayantimala's dance steps in this song ...so meticulous . The fast rhythm music starts with a robust prelude from the word go ... 👌 Lataji's honeyed voice is as fresh as the morning cool breeze... & it has been marvellously penned by Shailendraji ( he has 10 songs out of the 11) . Lastly would like to mention that the Radio Ceylon announcer late Gopal Sharmaji used this prelude for his program " Kal aur Aaj" ...This signature prelude tune depicted "Aaj" and the 1935 film "Dhoop Chhaon" music depicted " Kal" ...Enjoy this vibrant lively song composed by our Genius Music Directors Shankar Jaikishan ! 😊
