She frowns. "Really Aurora? You've already listened to me talk about him a hundred times before. Don't you get sick of hearing it?" Because however sickeningly sweet Aurora and Tida are, after a while Mana will certainly tire of hearing yet another cute thing Tida did this morning.

But Aurora insists so really, who is Mana to refuse? "Calum is...well. It's Calum- you know how he is. He's too selfless, still, but that's why I'm here. He cares too much about the people around him but it's not necessarily because he's worried about them not liking him. It's because he genuinely doesn't want to hurt them. That's the difference between him and all of the 'nice' people I've known. Irritating, really. You can tell the latter has an ulterior motive for being nice. Calum doesn't.

"You know, for someone whose parents are real shitheads, I'm surprised Calum turned out the way he did. Maybe we're all lucky for that- he stayed soft even when they tried to make him harder." But that's not really what happened. He's like this because that's what SURVIVAL demanded of him. They kept asking for more and more and Calum, all he could do was give and give up whatever he could. Give up everything if it meant keeping them happy. It's not like he can just turn it off when they're not there.

"If he hadn't been there, I don't...I'm not sure if I would still be here." Or maybe she would have, but it certainly would have been a rougher road to traverse without him. And his jello. "He didn't have to stick around. It probably would've been easier to go forward without me- he had been doing pretty well on his own considering the way our senior year turned out. He could've taken the easier path." Leave her in her corner. Step into the light and leave her in the darkness. He had already come into himself by then. It would have been a smoother ascent, without her weighing him down. "But he didn't."

She looks up. "I think I LOVE HIM, Aurora."

you wanna have the super softest oc appraisal?

I love the cast of @ofgentleresolve, even though I know 2 of all the characters on that blog, I love the interactions between them and Roxy. Ferre has incredibly well written characters, and the ones that I got to write with are Yoojin and Lamon. I love Yoojin's character as a whole and the interesting lore behind his immortality. I'd love to explore his origin and backstory a little more. And I cannot forget about Lamon and Roxy, I love how he is both level-headed and bone-headed at the same time. He has a very compelling story to back it up, and I admire Ferre's ability to create dynamic characters that are so vibrant, but at the same time, honours subtlety in ways that it can still pack a punch at the right moments.

Another mutual whose OC I am also enamoured with is @shamsgoddess... we have yet to interact but I love Aurora as a character, and I am so intrigued with her backstory and the original lore behind her. There are so many themes to explore regarding her current circumstances, and I just love the sublime atmosphere in Rose's writing. And the way Aurora is written, she feels like a real person regardless of her divinity and otherworldly attributes.

And you, @destinybitten, admittedly we rarely cross paths on the dashboard but I had the pleasure of interacting with Ula. She is the only OC I could form an opinion around due to the aforementioned, but I find her story along with her sister's story to be truly compelling. There is a lot of depth to be explored with their family, and it's interesting being able to position Roxy as an outside observer. I would like to plot more with you, because Ula has so much potential for growth and I would love to see it!

see, tumblr is pretty much the only platform i've ever written on ( although my origins actually comes from quizilla ims...rip quizilla u were mi first love sjdklfsj ), so icons and having some kind of face claim has always been the norm for me...i guess if i'm on a site that doesn't do that, it'd be very very strange overall. BUT i do think the rpc overall takes icons a little too seriously...like who cares if your partner is using gifs instead of 100x100 icons?? what's more important is that the writing and the characterization is quality. aesthetics come second always.

that being said, i really would prefer it if my partners didn't use like the 800x600 size gifs tho?? it's just...a lot to scroll thru- at that point, i'd just go iconless, which is actually something i've seen ppl do more often!! i support that.

"No? I...the game has ended. I win," he repeated, a underlying confusion seeping under his words. It was a particularly intense game of Monopoly, and while he wasn't one for games, he'd won handily against Tida and Aurora, but already she was pestering for a rematch, "Let us do something else instead. I fear if we keep this up, I'm going to get tackled to the ground by the end of my hotel-building spree."

He kept his tone light, tilting his head as he studied the other games in the room (something less competitive, maybe, because he knew he would do the same if he'd lost the next round). "I'm not entirely sure what we can do next, but I'm certainly not playing another round of this. How dry, there was barely any competition."

  Deft fingers stumbled uncharacteristically over the makeshift bandage she’d sorted for herself, tied in a lopsided knot that he managed to pull loose after a moment’s effort. He tossed the material to the side, landing over the edge of the garbage bin in the kitchen, staining the entire room with the fresh scent of blood. His every sense was on permanent overload, but it no longer stirred him or drove him wild -- he’d had a lot of time to get used to it, after all. Everything about what he was was as natural to him as drawing a breath, and the pungent smells from her open wound did little to disturb that ease. He moved his hands in sync, unravelling a fresh roll of gauze that he’d found in the back of the medicine cabinet in the bathroom, and began to wrap it over and under the damaged skin before him. He still had to stoop, what with his borderline monstrous height, even as she sat at the edge of the countertop, perched safely on La Push lands.

   No damned bloodsuckers will get ya here.

   "Hey --” the gentle breath of his voice overlapping with hers, quick to cut her off with a raise of one brow and a serious flash of dark eyes on hers. “Pretty sure we both know that’s not true.” He secured the bandage with a square knot ( left over right, right over left, tug ) and released her. “Shit happens, yeah?”
