oh, our darling girl! i like that she feels everything So Much, that her reaction to stress is to try on dresses or throw herself on the sofa (same, Natasha, same). she’s young, and naive, but she also sees magic in things – the childlike wonder of “no one else,” and her delight over the opera, Anatole’s letter. i like that she gets to leave the second act smiling. (i also like that Pierre/Natasha is canon!)

i ended up making a really weird potato cheese thing in the microwave instead so i will become the macaroni later

tbf there was a period of roughly two weeks last fall where i ate almost exclusively macaroni with nothing but butter and salt. like, i’d be thinking about what to eat for dinner, and i thought “hey, macaroni sounds really good” like fifteen fucking times in a row. so i may still be a little bit macaroni after that.

A good young man and the most fun healer to play. Also should be required on the well portion of Ilios. 

Also, I want more about the Río uprising. Because like- international celebrity and guerilla general seem incompatible? As cloyingly cutesy as some D.Va/Lúcio content is sometimes, I do think it makes sense because these are both people who found ways to turn their mass commercial appeal into support for their deadly serious causes. But it’d be really interesting to look into that more, and see if it creates internal conflict for him.

1. favorite place to write

anywhere secluded - i have to be able to choose the white noise going on, or else i’m too liable to be distracted. i’ve also noticed i’m more productive when i’m house-sitting for friends? for whatever reason. i’m certainly not complaining.

30. favorite line you’ve ever written

i’m bizarrely proud of this bit from “somewhere between a thorn”:  He might not believe in the General, but he believes in the war, and the fate of the war depends on the myth of Washington. Alex is familiar with myths; he cut his teeth on Plutarch, after all. He’s confident he could write one.

probably because it captures a lot of my feelings about historical personas vs persons.

54. any writing advice you want to share?

@duckbunny made a post recently about writing two sentences at a time, and that has been hugely helpful to me as i work on the next sfbc installment. breaking down a Thing into small goals makes the process feel less overwhelming. never give up? getting stuck is the Worst and sometimes it feels like it’ll never end, but it will. i promise.

2. Favurite part of writing: The point near the end of the story when you can feel yourself cresting the rise and suddenly everything is downhill tot he finish, and the words just pour out of you. Kinda scary, kind of exhilarating, can seriously mess with your weekend plans. It’s the best bit.

15. Where does your inspiration come from: I have a very visual imagination when I’m working out fic. Mostly I will get a scene, or a conversation, or just a flash of an image, and build out from there. Chalice Inverted grew from two scenes: the conversation between Isaella and Nicovar in the first chapter, and the one between Isaella and James in the last.

29. Who do you write for: Me. I don’t only write ideas I love - I couldn’t take commissions if I couldn’t work on things I wouldn’t have chosen - but I’m always writing something that appeals me as a reader.
