Shapeshifter dream on the smp who shapeshifts to feel included is so cute when he's hanging out with Fundy he's a cool majestic fox to impress when he's with Tubbo he gets horns and they play chess together when Puffy calls him duckling he actually gets duck wings he sometimes gets tusks or hooves when around techno and with bad and Sapnap he's more demon like him and George share mushrooms I just find this concept so so cute

y'know, after all this c!dream and manhunt!dream talk, i've been thinking a lot about dream's OTHER personas and .. shapeshifter!dream from gnf's "Minecraft, But My Friend Is A ..." series has me so interested that i'd like to ramble abt him for a few paragraphs .

so many questions about that man !!

-why does he randomly morph into a random species every now and then? does he choose to morph? surely not, right, because you can see him complaining throughout the videos about the predicament..? or is it george that has the power to turn dream into different companion animals, since he always knows exactly how dreams form works and seems relatively unphased about his *assumably* previously human being turned into an animal?? is george some kind of amazingly smart scientist or magic user of sorts and dream is his voluntary test subject? if so, why does he turn dream into random pets? whats the overall motive? is it testing or are they just having fun? or maybe it was at first a test but they discovered they liked it too much to stop? or is it someone/something else ENTIRELY that controls dreams morphs?

-why can't dream die? what happens when he does? why is them completing their objective so reliant on dream staying alive? why is george unaffected by death? does dream just change back into his normal self afterwards? presumably, right? because theyre always back to retry with another animal? is it some kind of challenge theyre competing in and dream dying would disqualify them? or is it just two guys setting personal goals for themselves? if so, why don't we ever see them retry the samd animal? is dream physically not able to be the same animal twice? or do they just not want to?

-speaking of objectives, why IS their objective to kill the enderdragon? also, how does the ender dragon always manage to be back by the next attempt? do they just immediately respawn it afterwards? or is it some new world they travel to and, upon death, they return to their original world?

-why is there never anyone else with them? do they have any other friends or are they just a lone duo? if they don't, why? after all their travel have they never met anyone like them? or do they choose to stay alone? have they never encountered anyone who has gotten confused about a man and a talking pet? can other people even hear what dream is saying or is it more like the trope where to everyone else he's just making normal pet noises and george is the only one can understand him? if they do have friends, what do they think of what dream and george do? do they think its cool? a little weird? do they even know that this happens or do dream and george keep it private - their little hobby?

-how did they even find eachother and come across this arrangement in the first place? had they been friends for years before discovering dream could morph? or had george met him while he was in a morph? or, if george is the one who controls dreams morphs, did george just ask dream to do it one day and dream agreed? was it awkward? or not at all? was it accidental or planned?

-what is dreams real form???? we could assume it's humanoid like george, considering his voice is human. does dream even HAVE a normal form? perhaps he's more of a conciousness that inhabits random bodies? although we did see a glimpse of dream's mc skin in one preview - is that his actual form, or is it simply a transition phase? or a temporary form that george creates for him, perhaps? also, if that form is his real form, what .. would it be? do we take it literally and see a man made of green and a white blob on him thats in an odd position, or is he just a human in an odd outfit? or was that glimpse of him some broken form of him? what if during all these tranformations dream's actual form got slightly broken and corrupted and transformed into something strange looking?

does any of this make sense???? probably not ???? but shapeshifter!dream my beloved you are such a curious being i want to know more of u.

I've been sitting on this idea for a while

And I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this idea, but

Since it's confirmed Dream isn't human, here is my headcanon/Hot Take on what he is

Shapeshifter!Dream, where his true form is just a blob humanoid figure with the little white figure inside (a.k.a reflecting his Abomination Of A Minecraft Skin (like Reuniclus but more human and ominous)),

To fit in and be seen as less intimidating (unless he wants to be), he just shifts to look more human as in the badass green hooded figure hunter we all know and love (/p)

But let's be honest that hoodie probably isn't all that soft and solid when he gets upset

A.k.a when Dream gets MAD his current facade/form begins to "melt" away, revealing him for the monstrosity he actually is

I just know this fandom loves its shapeshifters and if anyone here is a shapeshifter it's got to be Him

Sleepy bois inc. monster Au character intros: Speed run addition

Ok I'm speedrunning some of the other MCYTs that are going to be in my AU. This probably isn't all of them but eh. Again don't be afraid to give ideas bc most of these i'm going to change at some point since im making these up on the spot.

 First let’s talk about sapnap baby 

He’s Dreams BFF 

They’ve know each other since they were around 5ish 

Sapnap helps Dream with his shapeshifting abilities 

Sappynappy travels with Dream whenever he can bc that’s how he gets money 

He can’t always travel since he promised his mom he’d finish school 

He has the ability to suppress someone's powers

He can suppress anyones powers no matter how strong they are or what species they are.

However depending on how strong someones powers are is how long he can keep them suppress

If someone's power is pretty much their entire being (Like dreams) He can only do it for a minute

He tries to practice when he can but its hard when there's not many people with powers and the people who have powers willingly let some guy suppress them.

Next we have gogy

Listen one day he found a dog and thought it was cool and next thing he knows the dog is making fun of him for being color blind

He honestly just wants to vibe

Gogy here is a dragon

He can go from a huge medieval dragon, to a half human half dragon with the tail, wings, and scales, then to normal human.

He travels with dreams pretty much all the time and when he's asked he'll take care of Dream's sister.

George loves collecting blue shiny things

He’s honestly there for a good time and a long time

Then we have our favorite muffinhead Badboyhalo 

Now Bad is a very interesting character

He is extremely kind, gentle and loving

But he has a past he's not so proud of

Mr. Halo here is a fallen angel

And a biblically accurate one too

He uses the dark, heavy hoodie and magic to cover up a LOT of eyes and his 2 sets of wings

He likes to travel the land collecting flowers and helping people where he can

He made a dumb, angerfilled mistake when he first fell and he regrets it emincilly so now he tried to help people instead of hurting them

Anyways he vibes with some cursed fellow and travels the land making deals and simply living his best life

He hopes to one day right all the wrongs he caused during his youth

Sometimes when he's bored and Skeppy is sleeping he makes statues of his friends, nice people he's met, or people he has wronged.

Skeppy

I deadass know nothing about skeppy so uh

He is the cursed fellow

In a few years he will turn fully into diamond and as far as he knows there's no way to reverse it

So he kinda does his best to ignore it

(It's not too hard to ignore since it only grows like a centimeter a year.)

His feet and hands are fully diamond but it doesn't restrict his movements surprisingly

He told BBH that he was cursed but he didn't tell him that once the Diamond fully currops him he’ll turn into a diamond statue of himself 

Otherwise no one knows he cursed since he always wears shoes and gloves.

 Bad PLEASE stop making statues of random people its weird

Tubbo 

I've decided to update what he looks like 

He still always adapts at least one trait from a animal he controls for a long time

And It still disappears after a while

But instead of antennas he has horns 

They are very small and they hide in his hair so no one can really see them

fwt brainrot hours! c!Dream being a shapeshifter means that he could transform into an, for example, artic fox, he could go and look for Yogurt (yes my headcanon is that baby fox is their biological son what about it) and just starts living around Las Nevadas to make sure that his cub is safe, if Fundy at some point discovers him and can't say a thing about to the others because Yogurt is just so happy to have his papa around... Listen, he is not going to induce anymore trauma to his child that the one that he once had to deal with

Quackity seeing the wings growing on Dream's back (they weren't there a moment before, he was sure of it) and seeing red. Gripping the axe harder, yelling at the prisoner, who is trying to get away from him.

"What the fuck is this Dream?! What did you do?! What do you want?!" swinging the axe around in anger, clipping the obsidian and making some shards fly around. "You think this is funny?! Huh?!! You think I'm going to let you go?! No... No!"

Quackity feeling the unused, neglected wings hidden under his dress shirt and feeling more anger with each step, each second, each word.

Only one person leaves the cell with wings on their back.

He probably does! Just like c!Sam - what would he do if he saw his prisoner changing with each visit? If he saw him trying to make himself more comfortable or choosing 'dangerous' shapes?

He would be furious. The prisoner deservers to be uncomfortable, to feel unsafe and to feel weaker. He should stay human. Should stay himself, so that c!Sam always sees the face that deserves to be locked up.
