Exactly how much dedication does it take to leave?

Would an individual who has a knack for dedication -- like someone from Devotion's planet, Sel -- have an easier time leaving?

Would Shard Devotion have an easier time leaving, compared to other Shards?

Shu-Dereth and Shu-Korath both have one parent religion, Shu-Keseg.

Shu-Keseg taught unity. According to Shuden, followers of Shu-Keseg take this to mean unity of mind and accepting everyone; Followers of Shu-Dereth take this to mean unity of obedience; Followers of Shu-Korath take this to mean unity of love.

Unity. I'm sure it has something to do with Adonalsium. It has something to do with Dalinar, too, with all the "Unite them" and "I am Unity."

There were two Shards on Sel.

I thought Domi was Devotion and Jaddeth was Dominion, but then I saw on Coppermind.net that Aona (the vessel of Shard Devotion) was a she? Both Domi and Jaddeth are referred to as he.

So, possibly, Domi and Jaddeth are just different names for Dominion. This goes with Shu-Korath (which worship Domi) and Shu-Dereth (which worship Jaddeth) both having come from Shu-Keseg. The difference in name can be explained by Shu-Dereth adopting the name of a Fjordell god.

Where is Devotion, then?

Moon, which is worshipped in Jeskeri Mysteries, is the only Selish god I've noticed that is referred to as she.

Based on the fact that Shard Devotion lived on Sel, I am trying an interpretation that Shaod comes to Arelons who have a special devotion.

One definition of devotion from TheFreeDictionary.com is "earnest attachment to a cause, person, etc."

A person could be earnestly attached to:

embarrassing the king (Raoden),

serving one's self (Shaor),

protecting others (Karata),

loving sculpture and art (Aanden),

pessimism (Galladon).

And by this interpretation, a good candidate for Elantrian could be, among others:

Completionist (earnestly attached to collecting all the things)

Person in competitions (earnestly attached to winning)

Cleaner / organizer (earnestly attached to neatness)

Rich (earnestly attached to wealth)

Arch nemeses (earnestly attached to each other...'s demise)

Anyone with an obsession or hyperfixation, really.

Souls of the dead, who hate the local god, and can posess a person's body?

Some of the details are a little off, but Svrakiss sound very similar to Voidbringers.

What exactly happened when Odium visited Sel? How did he shatter the Shards?

Interesting. Jaddeth is a religion that's heavily influenced by Dominion, and it approves of ambition and devotion.

Dominion, Ambition, and Devotion are all shattered Shards. Coincidence?
