Srsly??? This guy has the utter gall to say that “they need to find the right story to tell?” This is their JOB. A job I actually had once. It’s NOT THAT HARD. Waiting for a response. ;) I also asked him if the frequency of chat questions re: JW having a life might signal to him that it’s something worth addressing (or shorter twitter words to that effect). Including #WhyRatings🚽

Get Your Shinwell Sh-t Together, Elementary

I have more to say about last night’s ep “Dead Man’s Tale” (don’t I always?) but let me just start with the fact that OF COURSE the writers have completely mishandled this whole Shinwell story. It disappears for weeks, then rears its ugly head -- but only for Sherlock of course (and yes, they always do this, but it still irks).

We’ve not seen a lick of evidence of this supposed deep friendship he and Joan now share, nor have we seen any sort of really deep personal need Shinwell has to get even with SBK. He’s so f-ing laid back in 99% of his scenes, that we’ve never even seen his righteous anger or passion against the gang until now. It’s still unclear -- was he saying that the gang forced him to kill his friend? Just cuz they asked? And that little speech he made about drugs ruining lives? WTF? That Sherly beatdown came out of nowhere and made zero character sense.

Why not have them be practicing boxing, like they f-ing set up, and have Shinwell get so frustrated with SH’s smug know-it-allness that he goes whaling on him in the ring instead of laying in wait to beat him up? 

Just think how much more powerful this season would’ve been if Shinwell had a clear plan he was executing to take down the gang, that Watson was instrumental in devising and was thus, emotionally involved in, as it went through its inevitable failures and successes. And now, just when they’re closing in on the big bad gangster guy, SH sticks his fat nose in where it doesn’t belong, tho both Shinwell AND JW asked him not to. Now, the mission would possibly be in danger, JW and Shinwell could be compromised and we have tons of tension and emotion cause SH didn’t trust JW to handle her own investigation/protege.

Now we just have JW looking like a damn fool for just blindly believing in this guy. She’s so behind in her own storyline that she doesn’t know the daughter story was wrapped weeks ago. This f-ing show! 

Every single supposed “arc” is so incredibly half-baked and poorly thought-out, not to mention executed. RD flails his way through season after season -- the whole freaking Dad thing, the partner break-up, the fall off the wagon, JW’s reaction to Andrew’s demise, MORI-F-ING-ARTY!! SERIOUSLY??? Sigh. #EndRant

The world really only gets maybe two great horror movies a year, and I think maybe I’ve already seen them all going back several years. I’ve watched at least 10 horror movies this past month hoping to discover a hidden gem, but so far they’ve been pretty “meh.” I’ve still enjoyed them — they’re good even when they’re bad — but I’m going to keep trying to hit on something better. Suggestions welcome.
