hey hi you´ve been reblogging a bunch of Shadow and Bone posts on the other blog so I´m assuming you´ve watched it. Is it watchable if I haven´t read the books or am I going to lose interest out of confusion?

I’m really not the best person to ask this question to because I have read not only all the books, but all the spinoff books too. I’m one of those people who has been waiting for this show for over a year.

That being said, I got my friends to watch it! @decantae has only read Six of Crows, and @inconsistentlyontime didn’t know that the series existed before, and they both said that they enjoyed it, and have not mentioned anything about feeling lost or confused.

I am losing it at one of your characters´ name being Tupelo. In my language "tupelo" is a slang word for someone not particularly clever. It´s the kind of word you´d usually use for (or around) a child.

#I named them Tupelo because it means Swamp Tree #and their Pack's culture puts a lot of stake in names based around their experiences/home #additionally as a nod to the fact that they live in a swamp with tall trees #but this new translation discovery is #uh #concerning #might have to rethink that one a little #sharraus

and honestly - not really? i do find it hard to write someone who is good at socializing, bc my social skills are next to nothing, but i can usually work around that bc i actually have time to think compared to real life conversations. i don't think i've ever left someone out of a scene because of that, tho
