she wasn’t immune to the fear, the intimidation of that figure, as he walked into the cell, but she could pretend she was. she could tip her chin up, look directly into the lenses of that helmet, she could banish thoughts of the rebellion from her mind. he would not have them. ‘ i am a member of the imperial senate and a representative of the royal house of alderaan. ‘ the senate was a joke, the elder houses no longer held their ancient power, but news of the empire detaining a senator and princess while on a diplomatic mission would only give the rebellion more fuel. make her a martyr. ‘ i demand to know the charges upon which i am being held. unless you mean to tell me the empire has resorted to fabricating evidence of treason? ‘

@shattrpoint : “Let me fix that for you.”
“I found all the pieces… I don’t know why it won’t go back together.” It felt important to let his father know that he’d tried to fix it, even if it also meant admitting to his failure. Luke was certain that he’d picked up all the broken bits while Leia handled the other kids, and Luke was good at fixing things - or at least he’d thought he was.
Sighing, Luke’s expression was unhappy as he carefully moved the pieces of the toy towards his father, hoping that he knew Luke hadn’t been careless, hadn’t let it get broken on purpose. “Did Leia tell you what happened?” It hadn’t been his fault, he wasn’t the one that picked the fight, and now his gift from Uncle Obi-Wan was broken and he couldn’t fix it, it just wasn’t fair.
obi-wan, going over safety protocol w anakin: and if I'm shot, what do you do?
anakin, already in tears w his lightsaber out: avenge you,
obi-wan: no-
she knew that, if she had walked down the halls, she would not have found luke or han, that there would be no fellow rebels in the bridge monitoring their journey to hoth, that amilyn holdo would not answer if leia had tried to hail her. it was that old feeling, that sense she’d had since she was a child. what she did not feel, though, was the presence of the stormtroopers. she rounded a corner and there he was. the armor was different, but she recognized the badge of 501st. vader’s fist. a cold chill had run down her spine, but didn’t stop her from reaching for his blaster. she almost had it level with his chest before his companion had grabbed her. now she was thrown into a cell, but she heard them say their commander’s name. general skywalker. skywalker. luke? no, the man who walked in certainly wasn’t luke, but-- ‘ i know your son. ‘

@shattrpoint : ❛ i just wanted to make sure you’re okay. ❜
he could still hear aunt beru screaming at him to run, the sound of blaster fire in the background and the flash of a red blade. luke didn’t know what happened to aunt beru and uncle owen, but he knew that he promised them he would be brave and luke kept his promises, no matter how difficult it was. space was cold and people had taken him from his home, but luke kept his eyes on the black mask before him, determined that he wouldn’t look like he was afraid.
“i’m fine.” he might have scraped his leg trying to run, but this man (or droid?) didn’t need to know that. he was fine. (were aunt beru and uncle owen okay? he’d heard screams) “what am i doing here?” when did he get to go home? that’s all he wanted, but luke didn’t think it would be that easy, just like he didn’t trust that the hulking black armor in front of him really just wanted to check on him. “i’m okay, so you can let me go.”
@shattrpoint : “ no, i don’t wanna have to talk to anyone else right now. i just want you. ”
he cuts a lonely figure; deserted landing pad, coruscant skyline. ❝i’m here,❞ she says, ❝nobody else, just me.❞ and that’s true. she’d given no indication she’d had any knowledge of his whereabouts, a mute shake of her head when asked, do you know where skywalker is? but in the fading daylight she’d had ideas enough where to look. agitation seems to roll off him in waves, the air almost humming with it. and when she goes to him she hopes her presence can bring him some comfort. but she has to ask, a light hand on his shoulder and soft voice almost swallowed on a breeze, ❝anakin, what’s going on?❞
