Call me crazy but i think one of the reasons Lied clicked with Soi so well is that he also didn’t really ever feel seen. Like we’ve never seen his parents, his interactions with shakky is in border patrol aka demon world version of the police (a very busy job) and also constantly on the search for a romantic partner, and he’s kind of a loser: when he won the harvest festival with Iruma, Iruma was absolutely surrounded by azz and Clara, but he was just kinda there. And during the harvest festival, he was so excited that he might have a chance with Elizabetta, but then had his hopes absolutely dashed. He also generally considers himself unpopular with girls despite hte fact he’s in teh misfit class. Idk i might just be a little delusional lowkey.

Edit: let’s pretend im not being delusional for a second. This is why he is so into games. He is escaping into them, into worlds where he is the main character.
