"Yeah, it can be far too short at times. That's why we have to spend as much time as we can enjoying them while they're here." He nodded. Tristan sat lotus style on the bend, staring out over the space in front of him when most of his people, his family were all massacred, he couldn't imagine himself being here.
All those years after he had been fighting to survive in a world that was no longer…or at least, appeared to be no longer his own. He didn't belong, did he? Homeless, barely getting by, traumatized, he wandered managing to just barely survive. He had met Sean and Darius when they were all children.
By that, he had known of Shay, even then. Though they really would not officially meet till years later. He looked over toward her, wondering how it was that he could allow so much time to be wasted between them all this brief passings they had till finally coming together. At her words, when she finally did speak again he nodded "I know."
"I was as well, I guess it just took us growing up to see each other in the end." He had known, before, before she actually had seen him, before he became a part of the actual story of her life. That he must have appeared some faceless, street urchin. And he was, he could not lie. That's all he had been for so long. But now he was hers, and he had more to live for, than just bringing his once destroyed peoples back into the realm.
Feeling her hand on his face, he closed his eyes, calming his heart a moment before feeling her lips on his face in the next. Tristan reached his hand, opposite from hers and cupped her face "And thank you, for being part of mine." Leaning in, he cutely brushed his nose against hers a few times, before placing a gentle kiss at the tip of her nose a moment later.
