Thinking about that Susie post about her possibly having dyslexia reminds me of my childhood where I spoke primarily Spanish in my house from my parents and went to school in an English speaking district as I live in the US. I flubbed up my words a lot and also had difficulty communicating due to selective mutism at the time. My teachers had me attend English classes despite me knowing how to speak and read in English and it made me a really good reader and writer in English, especially for being like 10-11 years old. It’s like idk man, just because you’re not outwardly showing your “skill” with language comprehension doesn’t mean you’re not smart. I was always smart I just never showed it outwardly to my teachers
