Codex: The Faeries
𖤝 An old folklore said that the creation of Faeries began with a spirit merging with a mortal. Curiosity, watching from afar, had grown a deep fondness for man. The natural desire to uncover knowledge only to be halted by their mortality. Time was their tragedy yet Curiosity had another solution: To fuse together. And in this trial created the first of the Faeries. Like wildfire, they multiplied. Winged creatures of the mystique capable of wielding three gifts: A powerful magical element to manipulate, the ability to size-shift, and emotional siphoning. The Faeries live an exceptionally long life, often grouping together in a coterie with other supernatural creatures. This often includes the mischievous Satyrs, stoic Myconids and diligent Spriggans. Their lives harmonious yet they all face one common issue known as Moribund. Through sheer willpower, a Fae must practice temperance in a balanced spirit. Siphoning too much or too little emotion can send them into a complete frenzy. Their ears elongating, the skin becoming more translucent and their teeth and nails sharpening to a fine point. The Fae then becomes overwhelmed by a hunger only satiated through consuming the flesh of a frightened creature. Their memories of the past becoming a discombobulated echo for wielding such grand magic always comes at a price.
