Germanodactylus is a Pterodactyloid that gave its name to a small group of them more closely related to Germanodactylus than to other pterosaurs, such as Pterodactylus itself. It is known from the Solnhofen Limestone of Germany, living in the Tithonian age of the Late Jurassic, about 145 million years ago. It had a wingspan of about 1 to 1.08 meters, and a very long skull of about 21 centimeters. Germanodactylus had a notable hea crest, with a bony portion on the midline of the skull and soft tissue that doubled the height of the crest itself. This actually indicates that other tissues may have also had soft tissue extension to their crests, though it is not always preserved.

Germanodactylus was probably a fish eating pterosaur in its marine environment, with a sharply pointed jaw and quite a few teeth. The genus was originally a wastebasket taxon, however has since been more straightened out with only two species assigned to the genus - though, ironically, both of these species originally belonged to other genera first.

Maybe I’m uninformed because I’ve never seen Riverdale or Euphoria, but why do some of you, including OP, believe depicting teenagers having sex is problematic in teen shows? Sex is a normal part of being a teenager. At least, it was for my teenage years and for those I was surrounded by. Is it because of a violent aspect in these shows or is it an issue of thinking the writers have a weird obsession with it? I’m just having trouble understanding this take so I’d like to have some clarification

i am not saying teens do not have sex. do i think they should wait bc teens are still in fact children? absolutely. if that makes me a prude then so be it.

the point of my post that in this day and age media is steeped in sexual images of children. and thats not ok. im not sitting here trying to say that people are better or worse for having sex in highschool. im just saying as a culture collectively we would benefit much more if we didn’t let grown ass adults keep pushing the idea of sex on kids.

should they talk about sex in teen shows? yes! talk about boundaries, consent, sex ed, healthy relationships etc. we cannot pretend that sex ed is little more than a joke. if the majority shows focused the actual education part and less on “teens are inherently sexual beings, here’s them going at it on screen” itd be fine but unfortunately thats not how it is.

and i dont watch shows like riverdale/euphoria/etc but from what i hear theyre good examples of what im talking about. a lot of these shows just put out these sexual relationships w/o any kind of preamble. i know theres a waaay better and healthier way to inform teens about sex than just showing what is basically softcore porn. bc that sure as hell did not help me or people i knew from making certain mistakes in highschool just bc we didnt know any better and were trying to fill the mold of teenage life tv/media taught us.

we have to do better for children in the future.

It was my way to deal with everything. I found this show in season 1 and found the books thanks to the show. I have loved these characters, I felt reflected in them someway or another. As a victim of abuse, I fond these characters, inspiring and in some way supporting. The message they gave me (more in the books but they made you believe it in the show too) is that its hope. You can detach your abuser. Be yourself and no reflection of them. That your trauma doesn't define you. And all this being destroyed in 1:30 hours it hurts. Like a slap in your face while they say ‘You can’t escape from abuse, you’re addicted to it’ ‘trauma define you and you can’t escape except if you die’ ‘You should never think you will find happiness, not ever’ .‘Open to other after abuse and trauma is a way to let them do to you all that again’
