“I almost lost you.”

Everything was loud and painful for a few brief moments as Arakita’s view of the world tumbled and twisted around him. It took ages for his senses to return, but of course the first thing he felt was pain. Everywhere, from his knees and elbows, to ribs, to the side of his face which he figured he landed on, ached and stung. At least the grass beneath him was soft and cool, a momentary respite in the current chaos.

Next, he heard the sharp screech of tires braking, making his head throb in agony. A low groan escaped his lips, muffling the vague babbling and yelling that came closer. He tried bringing a hand up to cover his ears, but a damn heavy weight grabbed and held onto him, pinning his arms against his body and shit he kind of needed to breathe.

The babbling grew clearer as Arakita opened his eyes, blinking a few times before he recognized the reddish-brown blob blocking his vision as Shinkai. Or his hair, at least.

“I was so scared Yasutomo,” the sprinter cried, hugging his teammate and babbling more nonsense about how he should be more careful or something. Arakita could barely keep up.

“Ah- I’m fine- let go of me!” Arakita gasped out, his voice rougher than usual from the crash. “Can’t fuckin’ breathe!”

That seemed to get Shinkai’s attention, as he released his bone-crushing hug and pulled away enough to look at Arakita, his own heavy blue eyes brimming with tears. “I almost lost you,” he said solemnly.

Arakita stared, slack-jawed for a moment, before pressing a hand on Shinkai’s face and pushing him away. “You dumbass, I’m not gonna fuckin’ die!” he shouted in disbelief.

“But Yasutomo, I was worried about you!”

Arakita couldn’t help the way his face flushed from that statement, although it was already red from the impact just a minute ago. Averting his eyes, he used Shinkai’s shoulder to prop himself up and get back to his feet, shaking slightly still. “Sh-shaddup, get back to practice already,” he demanded groggily, not refusing when Shinkai stood as well and wrapped an arm around his shoulders for support.

“I can’t leave you in your condition, we’re heading back,” Shinkai said, ignoring Arakita’s complaints and guiding him away from their bikes and toward the school. “We can get our bikes later, all right?”

As much as Arakita would’ve liked to protest more and insist he could continue, he couldn’t deny it felt nice having Shinkai’s warm arm around him. He was going to blame that thought on a concussion though.

when or if I started shipping it: I think either before I started the anime or pretty early into it, so like. December 2013? All your fault.

my thoughts: I love them so much because they’re dumb teenagers and do dumb stuff and even though Yu is like the leader of the group, he can still be on an equal level with Yosuke because they’re partners

What makes me happy about them: Yu helping Yosuke get over some of the bad parts of his character, Yosuke being there for Yu when he needs it because he’s usually seen as this awesome guy who can do anything but he also wears himself really thin because of it sometimes, and Yosuke can help bring him back together and treats him like a person, not a superhuman

What makes me sad about them: NG+ aus, bad end aus, failed true end aus, Yosuke’s issues

things done in fanfic that annoys me: When Yosuke is characterized as a total ass or clueless about everything, or when Yu is like completely emotionless deadpan. He’s a dork that eats weird stuff out of the fridge.

things I look for in fanfic: Starting relationship stuff, either with Yosuke being hesitant at first and growing more comfortable because he really does like Yu, or Yosuke having the crush on Yu and making the first move, and them both being embarrassed nerds.

My kinks: Yu in kind of femme or pastel clothing unashamedly doing dirty things, experimenting new things (whether it’s just things they’re trying for the first time with each other like bjs or r/mm/ng, or when they’re already together and like “hey I saw a thing about this online let’s try it” *afterwards* “okay that was really weird let’s never do that again” “i dunno i kinda liked that part where you-”), ponytails (on either of them), them being all embarrassed, not being able to get all their clothes off, fumbling, hair pulling

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Anyone else in the IT probably, also Yu with Kou and/or Daisuke

My happily ever after for them: Yosuke grows up and gets over his homophobia, apologizes for the shitty things he’s done, they date and hold hands and kiss, Yu moves back to Inaba full time, they kiss a lot and live together with like 15 cats and a big dog (Yosuke insists), they get married and the rest of the IT is at their wedding (Teddie is both the ring bearer and the flower girl, Kanji cries, Chie wins a bet that Yosuke would trip on his way to the altar/whatever thing)

who is the big spoon/little spoon: They trade off all the time, and neither of them keeps track.

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Shopping together. Yu is really good at keeping track of what they need like groceries, and Yosuke always knows how to find good deals and stuff on sale

Nishinoya was a very touchy person. Not that Asahi minded that fact one bit. It was just something that he’d noticed once they officially started dating. He got more pats on the back, arm punches, and enthusiastic hugs from the libero than before, and Asahi quietly appreciated the attention whenever he got it, whether during volleyball practice, or in the halls, or any time they happened to be together, which was as often as possible.

When they were alone was a different story though. They visited each other’s homes at least twice a week, and enjoyed short moments of privacy peppered with soft and light kisses. Noya, despite how much he might’ve wanted to do otherwise, kept his hands to himself in those moments, never trying to push further than he thought Asahi would be comfortable with.

It was nice, Asahi had to admit, that Nishinoya didn’t want to push him too far or anything like that, but after dating for nearly two months with only hugs and handholding and chaste kisses having occurred between them, Asahi was curious to try more.

He got the perfect opportunity not much later, too. His parents decided to take a trip for the weekend, leaving Asahi home alone for those few days, and he gladly took the chance to invite his boyfriend over for the weekend.

Winding up on the couch in Asahi’s living room with Noya practically sitting in Asahi’s lap wasn’t originally part of the ace’s plan, if it could even be called that. He couldn’t deny that it was nice though, watching television with an arm wrapped around his boyfriend’s waist and holding hands. The show they were watching kept Noya’s attention, but Asahi’s focus kept wandering, namely to the smooth skin of Nishinoya’s neck.

Once a commercial came on, the tall third year couldn’t resist temptation any longer and leaned down to press a soft kiss where he could feel Noya’s pulse jump beneath his lips.

“Hey wh-what was that for?” Noya yelped, whipping his head around to blush and stare at Asahi.

“Ah, it was nothing, I just-”

Asahi didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence, being cut off by Noya’s lips against his own for a moment. Pulling away, the libero grinned and poked Asahi’s quickly reddening cheeks. “Heh, if you wanted a kiss you should’ve just said so!”

Asahi blinked slowly, a little surprised, but running over Noya’s statement in his head. He thought for a moment, weighing his chances, and spoke up again just before Noya could turn back around. “Okay. Can we kiss a bit.. more, then?” Asahi asked, watching Noya’s eyes widen and cheeks flush slightly.

“Well, ah, sure of course, if you want to that’d be totally cool!” Noya said, a bit louder than necessary with a big grin.

Asahi nodded, setting a hand on Noya’s cheek before slowly guiding him closer and leaning in until their lips fit together smoothly, Asahi’s upper lip between Noya’s.

It was a little strange, Asahi thought, how such a little bit of contact made his heart race so quickly. But he knew it wasn’t just the contact, it was also being so close to someone he cared so much about.

Breathing through his nose, Asahi could feel the other’s breath against his upper lip as Noya did the same. The warm puffs, oddly enough, helped Asahi gather his courage again, and he parted his lips enough to slip his tongue out and slowly trace along Noya’s lower lip.

The smaller male froze momentarily, and it took all of the willpower in Asahi’s glass heart to not pull away and apologize, but after what seemed like an eternity, Noya opened his mouth and allowed his boyfriend access. Asahi entered carefully, trying not to get overwhelmed by the taste and the fact that oh god his tongue was in Nishinoya’s mouth, and he could feel Nishinoya’s tongue against his own.

It wasn’t until Noya tilted his head to fit their mouths together better and wrapped his arms around his neck that Asahi felt courageous enough to move his tongue more, slightly surprised by how good it felt just to move his tongue with Noya’s.

Unfortunately, it was a little harder to breathe like that, and they had to separate after a minute. Panting softly, Asahi couldn’t help but blush when he saw the wide-eyed look of excitement on Noya’s face, which he could only interpret that as a good thing.

“Was that.. okay, with you?” Asahi wondered out loud, still wanting verbal confirmation.

“Yeah! And you also liked it too, right?”

Asahi barely nodded before Noya’s lips were back on his, and the younger boy sent a silent prayer of thanks that they would have more time alone together to practice what he was sure would quickly become one of his favorite things to do with Asahi.

I saved a moth earlier today in the new house because I saw it flying around and I went in my bathroom (yeah I'm gonna have my own bathroom) and it was on the mirror so I kinda nudged it into my hands and carried it outside and set it free.
