Silly thing I made.

Context under the cut:

Long story short: I was thinking about how toons are completely different species from humans which means that if they get sick or injured there’s not much Delilah or Arthur could do to figure out how to help them with their ailment. I mean, even taking Tylenol might be bad because the dose hasn’t been tested on their kind before, and obviously Delilah and Arthur don’t want to accidentally kill one of their toons…

So…what if they made “Prototypes”?

Now, calling them prototypes is a tad misleading because it implies they were made first. The only one who was made first was Basil who is Sprouts prototype.(which is why he’s the closest after Leon in both appearance and personality.)What actually happened is after the first time Dandy got sick (before opening day and anyone but Pebble was made obviously) Delilah realized that they didn’t know how to deal with said issue. So she decided to create basically a copy.

Now this copy wasn’t perfect, on purpose, no need to make Dandy feel like he’s replaceable, even Delilah knew that was a bad idea as she didn’t want to mix them up, but for all intents and purposes it was functionally a copy.

She could have just stopped there. Made Leon and moved on, but unlike the normal toons who could also go off the research from Leon but the other mains? Not so much…plus having extras would probably be good for when Leon eventually collapses or you can’t get data from one of them.

Eventually there was no need for them. But it was still difficult to “take them out back” iykyk so they were just shoved into a storage room and left there. (Which is worst treatment than the holiday toons if you think about it-)

Though…with Gardenview being shut down and the toons being required to look around the floors and complete machines it’s only a matter of time before someone notices something off.

Behind the scenes

These are not just humanizations, but designs for AU.

In short: Gardenview is a shelter that uses cartoon screenings to help children find new homes. Some children can also participate in the organization's activities by showcasing their talents or dressing up in character costumes to create a festive atmosphere.

Therefore, not all characters here are adults, and their personalities and backstories may not align with the original canon.

To start off strong, Shelly isn't past drugging and murder

No one remembers her right? Well for once, it'll come in handy.

She can practically sneak into any room without being noticed, despite her color palette contracting with most things.

Shelly is a historian, so she's really good at researching, so uhm, she's easily able to find what she'll need to make sure she can keep you to herself... that or find effective poisons for... *other* things.

She's got pretty good cleaning skills! Since she's picked up a thing or two from Tisha.

If Shelly nabs your ass, trust me, you're never escaping.

Even if you *do* escape, no one is going to believe that Shelly of all toons kidnapped you. What do you mean Shelly kidnapped you!? She would never! ...and uhm, who's Shelly?

Basically, your cooked, because Shelly is smart and resourceful. Pray that she doesn't kill anyone.

Shelly will treat you well, don't worry! At most only your legs are bound, so no running!

Shelly will make sure to feed you the most nutritional meals possible, even if they're a little bland, but don't worry! She also gives you desert, so you get something tasty.

All in all, Yan!Shelly for me, is a lot more tame than the others... So uhh, yeah! That's about it!
